The first thing that struck me was the lightning header. (Haha, get it?) It is interesting, and certianly attention-grabbing. Your sidebar needs cleaning though. It has the potential to be very well organized, but you first need to put it in order of what you want the reader to see. Also, you have got to do something about that horrible blue-and-white striped background. Solid colors that match your color scheme need to be implemented.
Your content, however, which is the most important thing, is very nice. I found myself reading each post on the page until I was at the bottom. I like the way you put third-party material in gray boxes, and your links are not some crzy color to distinguish them - this is very good.
