There are now six states that require OSHA 10 hr Construction Outreach Training for all constructions workers employed on public works projects with in their jurisdictions, including NY, NH, RI, CT, MA, and now MO.
It is troubling that a few bad instructors have tarnished the credibility of the OSHA Outreach Training Porgram to the point that OSHA has revised its Outreach Training Program Guidelines. The program was originally intended as a voluntary program to assist employers and employees in obtaining a good understanding of the OSHA Standards that pertain to their industry.
With the recent abuse of the program and the down economy, many employers are looking to the internet for obtaining their employee OSHA 10 hour training. Online providers are reviewed and accepted by the OSHA Training Institute prior to be allowed to present the training for sale from their websites. The training must meet the OTI's requirements for design, quality, and seat time.
I would recommend visiting the accepted provider, www.onlineoshaguys.com website for those interested in obtaining their training through the internet.

Make that seven states; Nevada just passed a similar law. A popular option for obtaining your OSHA training card is to take the course online through one of the OSHA accepted sites such as www.osha10hourtraining.com. The trainee can start immediately, log in and out at their own pace, and print their certificate of completion upon finishing. The OSHA wallet card is mailed to the trainee after processing. Very economical.
