America in 100 Days
http://www.americain100days.weebly.com
America in 100 Days is the brainchild of Tom, Sarah and Joey, three young college grads with an unquenchable thirst for adventure. We three intrepid travelers are planning a road trip across the United States of America, driving from the east coast to the west coast with many stops in between, starting on June 1, 2009. This journey will last for over three months, spanning over 10,000 miles in total. The fruits of our travels will include a permanent move from Philadelphia, Pa. to Portland, Or.
We began putting our idea into motion about a year in advance of our departure date, knowing full well that a move so momentous as this would require more planning than we'd ever be able to anticipate. With so much to consider - destinations, routes, gear, food, shelter, and most importantly, money - the three of us have kept up a steady diet of regular meetings and planning sessions to keep our trip on track. We probably won't have many opportunities to do this again, so it's imperative that we do everything just right.
Let's be honest. This is the trip of a lifetime. And we've committed ourselves to sharing every inch of it with the rest of the world, right here on America in 100 Days. From our many planning phases, and all throughout the journey itself, we'll be sharing our stories, opinions, plans and experiences as vividly as our means will allow. So come along for the ride, and enjoy this great adventure with us.

Day 89 - On the boardwalk
After driving down the coast from our teaser visit to San Francisco, we arose in San Jose with fierce appetites. While I'm on record with some harsh words to say about fast food, I will also swallow my pride in the name of regional or cultural specia...
Yosemite snapshots
Before we let go of Yosemite, I wanted to share a few photos from our excursion out that way. This was not a just-around-the-corner trip in any way - nearly all of our stops in California fell on or along the coastline, with the exception of this one...
Day 88 - Yosemite to San Jose with Dan and Zie
I woke to the sounds of one of the very young girls in the family camped next to us yelling “Ma! Ma! Ma!” over and over and over. It was a bit squeaky, and Sarah said it made her briefly dream of birds before she woke. I am no...
Day 87 - To Yosemite and beyond
We made our exit from Paso Robles and pointed ourselves in the direction of Yosemite. On the way into town yesterday we saw fields that were glinting silver in the sun and soft breeze. We all wondered what the fields were full of and on our way by to...
Day 86 - Sand Dunes in Pismo Beach
If you have never taken four wheelers out on sand dunes, I highly recommend it. I have been mentioning things that have been “top ten events” for me quite a bit. Whitewater rafting, Carlsbad Caverns, and the Blue Ridge Parkway...
Day 85 - We\'re going to Hollywood!
Joey’s uncle J.T. and aunt Tina took the three of us and their new baby Sienna out for a wonderfully filling breakfast at Cappy’s Café and Cantina. Little Sienna enjoyed a game of dropping her toys from her highchair to the floor a...
