American Valor is a military tribute to the men and women serving in the armed forces, now and in the past, to defend our freedom.

DadMy thanks to you NamVetCav6768.
I weep for our troops. Just like us ( I served 68 - 77)they sacrifice their lives. They come home with more issues than any human being should ever have to endure. And, just like us, they are blamed for the decisions of the politicians.
Please forgive me. I am not here to bash polliticians or administrations. I am beyond that. I am simply asking the general public to begin showing just a little gratitude for the men and women of our armed forces who put their lives in harms way every day of the year to protect our freedom. Freedom is not free. It comes with the price of the blood of patriots.
I would like to know you better someday. Most importantly I salute you for remembering our brothers and sisters in arms.
Thank you and a hearty American Valor Military Tribute to you and your effort with your site.
Thank you.

Meet Elizabeth, Harry and Marcel. Elizabeth was the first female Security Force Member killed in action, and died serving our country in Iraq. Harry, late husband and father of three, served in the U.S. Navy, fourth generation. Marcel, currently deployed in Kirkuk , Iraq, is on his second tour with the U.S. Army and is set to return home on his son’s first birthday in December.
These three members of the military are being recognized today on Veteran’s Day as winners of a contest held this past summer called Stetson Salutes. Stetson is a nearly 150-year-old company with strong traditions and ties to the U.S. Armed Forces, Stetson suspected that Americans had some pretty powerful stories about their loved ones and his or her Stetson hat, and we were right.
In honor of the Armed Forces, Stetson held a national contest in which participants were asked to tell a story with a photo or video of how a specific Stetson hat played an important part of their or a loved one’s life. The three winners, Elizabeth, Harry and Marcel, have had a Stetson hat named in their honor and incorporated into the 2010 collection.
In celebration of Veterans Day, we’re getting the word out about these three incredible individuals, and hope to tell their amazing stories. For Elizabeth, a blue-blooded Texan, a Stetson hat was an easy choice for her first off-base purchase. To honor her memory, we’ve selected a traditional pinch-front crown western style. For Harry, we’ve selected a silver belly style, as his silver belly Stetson has become a special token for his children and grandchildren to remember him by. Marcel keeps close to his family while serving in Iraq with the photos his wife sends of their son Anthony wearing Marcel’s Stetson Cavalry hat. For Marcel, we selected another black style to recognize him for his service.
We hope you’ll join us in recognizing these individuals for Veterans Day by posting their stories to your blog, as well as on your Facebook and Twitter accounts. Please visit our Stetson fan page and follow John_B_Stetson on Twitter for more, and thank you in advance for considering.
Sincerely,
Michelle
