A blog that focuses on basketball training and coaching discussions.
Recent PostsI’ve said this probably 100 times but Allen Iverson is easily one of the most talented basketball players the world has ever seen. How many players at 6*0 and 170 pounds can do what he did in the league? Imagine if Iverson were 6*6. If Iver...
Great scorers are usually very good foul shooters. Imagine how many points Shaq would’ve scored throughout his career and his prime if he were an able foul shooter. Kobe and Carmelo, in today’s game, are players that know that they can ...
I’m a huge proponent of full court pressure defense especially in the women’s game but in general also. In the high school women’s game very few teams have multiple players who can handle the ball and beat a press so it is extremel...
I’m looking at this team and I see a team that is much better than they were last year. Bynum is playing great, Kobe is playing within himself. Odom is doing well again and Pau Gasol has yet to play a game. They have lost once so far and are...
Sorry it’s been a little bit since I’ve written but I’ve been extremely busy with things. I’ll make it up over the next couple of days I promise. Today I want to discuss the proper shooting mechanics and the 3 things that I f...

AndyHi Mark-
I'm actually not aware of any "1 on 1" camps or instruction sessions available in your area. That doesn't mean there aren't any available, I just don't know of any.
I do know that there are 2 very informative instructional DVDS done by JJ Redick (the former Duke guard and Steve Alford). They go over the whole mechanics of the jumpshop including footwork.

Mark GripshoverHello,
My son is a freshman basketball player here in NKY.
I am looking for someone who does one-on-one basketball training. Specifically, someone who can teach him how to have a beautiful jump shot. Now he shoots like most 14 year olds - all arms, and wants to learn how to jump straight up and release his shot at the top.
If you know of any facility that has this type of training, please e-mail me.
Thanks,
Mark Gripshover
