New to the photography scene. Purchased a new Sony Digital 350 sigma camera last year and am real impressed with the pictures. Have the Sony lens 18-70 mm, and the 55-200 mm. Looking for a "super zoom"? lens on-line and have looked at various "generic brands". Any to stay away from in particular, or should I just put a little more up front and buy a good zoom lens? I have a favorite in mind....Sigma 50-500 mm f4-f6.3 for $1,000. The others are Kenko, Tamron, Phoenix and Tokina are are of greater distance....?

This site is in total harmony with what the author promised via the title "Behind my camera lens". The author believes in his ability and knowledge regarding photography and displays this belief by posting detailed, well written, and often technical entries. This author's focus is photography, gone are the occasional political rants you will find elsewhere on similar sites. The layout is balanced to the eye, not shocking form for a photographer, and easy to navigate. While there are approx. 3 sections dedicated to "Ads by Google" they are done minimally so you still get the pure blog experience. In this day and age of the disposable camera, it is nice to see an artist at work.
