Take a look at this Youtube all-text video. I can well imagine the kind of personal slight that must have prompted this video. The author/video creator bemoans disciplines in the horse world criticizing other "preformance styles." I don't know it's a...

In this holiday shopping season I can't help but reflect on how things have changed since I was a child. My own parents were hopelessly bourgeois, all hung up on the notion of living within one's means. Horses took a back seat to that old hackneyed p...

I ran across this on Etsy. For the life of me I don't understand who this ad is supposed to appeal to -- rapstas/gangstas? the gay community? What's with the hat and glove accessories? The weird thumb placement? Who would buy this based on the stagin...

I ran across this children's book Doesn't Fall Off His Horse about a Kiowa boy of the same name. The title made me wonder about what it would be like to be named by one's tribal community. Some names are okay, like Doesn't-fall-off-his-horse or Dance...

Hi, Stacey tried to comment on your Bring on the Bling post but your captcha thing wouldn't work for me. So, comment below.....

Amazingly... I've just bought a new Kieffer Madonna Bridle and my hubby laughed his socks off given all I've said about diamante browbands and pink rugs over the years. But my Rosie suits it and its not too bling.

And... just as I opened your post Elvis started to belt out 'In the Ghetto' from my local riding music videos page....

Priceless !

This blog is a must-read for anyone who owns, rides or just loves horses. Written by a reference librarian and experienced rider, you will find exhaustive, qualified resources and a healthy dose of humor and wit. If I could score it higher than a 10, I would.
