B.K. Birch's Writers Blog

http://bkbirch.wordpress.com/

am an published author and poet who is still working to achieve my dream to be recognized and ascend into the inner circle of fellowship among my literary peers while captivating the reading public with my stories - and to have a little fun in the process.

My publishing credits include Solander Magazine – The Magazine of the Historical Novel Society, Wildchild Publishing with two Editor’s Choice Award wins, Charlotte Parent Magazine, Ranfurly Review, Copperfield Review, Penwomanship, Bygone Days, Mid-South Review and Emerging Women Writers. My poetry has been published extensively in the U.S. and abroad and I write book reviews for Midwest Book Review. I am the managing editor of The Scruffy Dog Review, an online literary magazine and I am a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

Posted on Tuesday December 15th, 2009 at 13:17 in my life in perspective

I have no energy. I have no enthusiasm.  I have no ambition. I am a lump of poo. Mid-morning Saturday, it stopped raining long enough for us all to pile into B1’s truck (6 of us in an extended cab Ford F-150) and go pick out our Christmas tre...

  • It’s Freezing!

I’m up early. It’s foggy outside, damp and stagnant. I haven’t seen what the weather is supposed to do today, but I have no plans.  It’s kind of dark inside and I have a few candles lit.  I don’t want the television on...

  • The Best Rejection Ever!

Posted on Saturday November 21st, 2009 at 11:28 in my life in perspective

Yesterday afternoon, I received a rejection from an agent. I think I submitted the novel to her well over a year ago. I think I actually blogged about rejecting an agent on this one. Well, yesterday I learned not to be so evil. She wrote me an email,...

  • I did something . . .

Posted on Friday November 20th, 2009 at 15:14 in my life in perspective

. . . that I never thought I’d do.  I emailed my Congresswoman regarding my concerns over the Healthcare Bill to be voted on in the Senate tomorrow.  I didn’t have time to re-write, edit or even take a deep breath before I hit the send ...
