Blog the Vote
http://blogthevote.wordpress.com/
MTV has Rock the Vote, so I figured the best next step was to bring it to the computing world, the internet world. The thought was this: traditionally voter turnout in the 18-24 demographic has been low (2000 election at 36%, 2004 election at 47%). These are new voters are people who may not know what to expect at their polling place, they may be apathetic, or they may feel their votes don’t matter. Well, here’s the truth. They DO! The next generation of voters have embraced the internet as a standard form of communication. This means that in order to get the vote out, to help spread the word, we need to embrace the internet as well. The people who have a responsibility to do so, as I see it, are bloggers.
