Blue Planet Shaman: Teachings & Musings of a Retired Shaman

http://blueplanetshaman.com/blog

If you were expecting to see a guy all dressed up in “official Shaman” garb, (adorned in crystals and animal parts) sorry, that’s not me.

I started down the Shamanic path in 1964 with my preliminary training. I then went on to my apprenticeship in 1968. We really don’t have graduations but in 1978 I had completed the required training as well as my required testing journey of two years.

Completing an apprenticeship means you understand the basics of Shamanism and you are ready to start the real work.

I come from an interesting mix of magical Native Americans and Celts that live in Appalachia where tradition has been evolving since the Viking’s visits.

I don’t have any certificates or diplomas from schools or academies. All I have is four holes in my chest (look closely at this picture) from being pierced and strung up for the night to see if I pass the test or die. (If I died it meant I didn’t pass.)

I went into retirement a couple years ago to take a break. I’ve done it all from exorcisms to healings, war zones to Sweat Lodges with a little geomancy and politics along the way. I’m 51 years old and back for some more.

My system is to help people develop their metaphysical skills in the way that gives them the best results. Everyone has metaphysical skills.

I help build teachers and spiritual leaders.

I love good humor and realism so if you are looking for the Shaman that sees important guidance in every bird chirp or cloud pattern, that’s not me either.
