Sounds like a great filter, Johnabi. I'll have to tinker with that one in Stockfetcher.

During the bull slaughter of recent months I heard more than one CNBC pundit describe what happened as "the death of technical trading". As a rehabilitating chart head I can attest that a lot of filters and patterns that worked well for me in recent ...

JohnJim,
I found your post today and have been playing around with a filter that is pretty similiar. I use the Ma 9 (colored green) and the Ma 14 (colored red). When both of these cross the 50 simple moving aver. = a good indicator. (Also when the 9 crosses the 14 on the way to the 50 = alittle heads up.) So far, this cross over seems to work either way... down over or up over. Thanks to your post I am going to continue to work on some of the other "items" you put into the filter. I would love to continue to work on this idea with you. Could not however find your email. Having never posted anywhere like this, not sure how to proceed? Will continue to read your blog. Thanks, Johnabi
