So in 1998 Laszlo ventured to work the culinary world of the finest restaurants in California. Laszlo was hired at the Plumed Horse in Saratoga and he witnessed for the first time the entire production of planning, working to make a concept profitable and very successful. Cheflaszlo says "I was encouraged and inspired by Patrick Farjas to learn "Haute" cuisine first hand by a French Master Chef, then after couple years I was asked if I would like to cook privately in San Francisco." Not afraid to take center stage, Cheflaszlo often found himself entertaining others with his outgoing and bright personality.
Needless to say, few years later Cheflaszlo was hired by a fashion designer in Los Angeles and cooked very upscale parties for the rich and famous. Besides cooking, Cheflaszlo is a food writer and journalist, whose articles have been published in several food magazines in US, Canada and Hungary. He contributes a weekly food essay to the USA Népszava American Hungarian Journal, Erdélyi Napló.
Raised in a pastoral town in Southern Lake Balaton Hungary, Laszlo trained in the best restaurants in Europe and New York, and has served as private chef to ambassadors and movie stars. Whether you are vegan or a lover of foie gras, Cheflaszlo will redefine the concept of fine dining in the comfort of home. -Melone Magruder Malibu Times
Cheflaszlo, who is known for his attention to detail and his pursuit of fresh ingredients, formed partnerships with local farmers, ranchers, and artisan producers. He demonstrates his purchasing habits to consumers by shopping in farmers' markets and featuring their farmers' names on his menus. Cheflaszlo supports the "Buy Local" campaigns initiated by a number of state departments of agriculture and local farming and environmental organizations.
