Time and space always make for better analysis so I thought it best to take a break after the recent G20 conference here in Pittsburgh. I have to admit that for me the whole thing was a bit of a letdown- both in terms of the protests impact on the gl...

Pete's blog is a candid treatment of issues large and small affecting Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, America, and the world. His background as a former military intelligence soldier, student of history, and businessman gives him a good perspective from which to comment on events of the day.

The cynicism is sometimes harsh, but always well-reasoned. I find Pete's blog to be a thought-provoking and refreshing view of topics that affect us all.

Highly recommended.

What do you get when you cross a Buddhist with an ex-republican turned anarchist? You get "Confessions of a Buddhist Anarchist"! This blog is very well written as he guides the reader through his thoughts about gay marriage, the court system, and the state, and it's infringements upon it's citizen's freedoms.

Reading Pete's brief post about how he became an anarchist and Buddhist I found that I could relate since I also have a fondness for the Buddhist philosophy (and even studied formally for a time with a monk here in AZ) and my distrust for authority was also a reason for my smooth transition from semi-statist to anarchist, similar to Pete's story.

Very much recommended.
