Recent PostsOkay, so I admit it. I've been slacking off lately when it comes to blogging and I suppose that an explanation is in order.Even I will concede, with Travis Armstrong gone, the News-Press isn't quite the target-rich environment it used to be. But cont...
More and more I find that morning coffee or breakfast time is when my tender sensibilities are most likely to be assaulted.First, it was people talking on their cell phones in coffee houses. I haven't even bothered to tell you about the barking dogs ...

Barbara's Journey Toward JusticeGreat Blog
On Saturday's blog, you posted Richard Mineards' response to your earlier note on his being dispatched from the News Press. He replied: "I .. believe the column drew attention to the many wonderful individuals and cultural joys of Santa Barbara."
One of his regular features was a report of recent celebrity "sightings" about town. That really added a touch of class, especially since Santa Barbara has long nurtured a reputation as a refuge where celebrities can comfortably circulate publicly without the usual fanfare, fawning and gawkery. Leave it to the the News Press and a British tabloid-style gossiper to erode that admirable tradition.
