Cricket is by far, the worst cell phone carrier I have ever had. Their phones are not worth as much as they sell them for, the phones break after only a month, they cant keep a signal to save their lives, and on top of that neither can I. I have come to terms that Cricket Wireless could care less that I keeping losing signals after only five seconds on the phone. "Call faded and signal lost" is all I get. I thought cell phones were supposed to be able to be used in a emergency, right? Well, the first phone I had, the Cricket "EZ phone" wouldn't have sound during a 911 call. Which brings me back to, I cant keep a signal to save my life. I've gotten about four phones since then and all have worked for less then a month. I'm honestly afraid that if I'm in a accident, lets say, up in the mountains that no one will find me til it's too late, and it's all because of this super crappy, nonsensical, and over all redundant Cricket cell phone service. They're tacky and I really don't like them. Please tell you're friends to not buy Cricket. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you to anyone who has read this post and wont let Cricket steal anymore money from you. *Disclaimer* All Views and opinions in this post are exactly that. Views and opinions. I do not own, work for, or advocate for Cricket or any other carrier. Thank you.

I've used Cricket as my cell phone provider for a couple years now and don't get me wrong I've had complaints, but it's cheap phone service without a contract. I have no experience with their wireless broadband either. All in all, I've been satisfied enough with the price of service to endure(what is usually, but not always)poor customer service and restrictive calling area. I pay 45$ a month for unlimited nation-wide calls and texts, that's enough for me. Unless I go on a road trip, I have no issues with my signal and have suffered dropped calls in the single digits since I first signed up with them. Their phones are expensive by comparison, but it is usually quite simple to flash a phone. I used the same phone for about 3 years, just the simplest flip phone they had and it still functions perfectly fine. The ONLY problem that I've had with the funcionality of the phone is that the charger it came with broke within 12 hours of purchase and they refused to give me a refund or replace it. I still have and, until recently, used the second charger without issue. The other day, I went in to turn my phone back on after a couple months of non-use. I knew I would pay first month's bill and a 15$ fee. The employee whom I dealth with offered me the Samsung r211 phone as a replacement for only 6$. Though my old phone still functions perfectly well, 6$ for even a newer peice of crap than I had was too good to pass up. The cherry on the sundae is that that particular model has a 50$ mail-in rebate right now. Upgrading to a new phone wasn't just free, it also paid my first month's phone bill. I guess people have had issues with rebates before, but in my eyes; If I don't get the rebate, I still got a new phone for 6$.
To end, as long as your expectations are low, then Cricket isn't a bad place to get your service from, at least not in my area. It would be worth looking into the service range in your area before purchase, and you probably ARE better off with another company if you can afford it... but for people like me who just want simple service, low rates, no contracts and don't do alot of traveling... Cricket works just fine.
