I'm not picky. I'm very patient. HOWEVER, dealing with Home Depot can drive anyone mad. The "installation" services are the worst! Home Depot makes a nice margin on its installers, but somehow, has no responsibility for such things as:
1. the installers showing up!!
2. the installers doing what is contracted
3. communicating that the installer won't show up
4. limiting what installers do [to have tile put around the tub, I had to remove all old tile, install backer-board, prepare the surface, etc.---and the install price was horrific]
5. nickel and diming jobs---how much to throw out the old carpet? how much to pull it up? I can drag it to the dumpster myself and save hundreds.
6. not doing a very good job.
Where is the accountability?
Is it any wonder that Home Depot has many EX-customers now shopping at Lowe's? Better yet----find that local tile store, or flooring store, and get a complete job, as promised, with someone accountable!
I love to do my own home improvement projects. Just in case something comes up that I'm not able to handle myself, I have a list of very reputable list of contractors for such a situation.
