Personally I do agree with this blog. Men do sometimes give off a vibe that may seem that they are cheating on their spouse, but speaking from a mans point of view I feel that we are sometimes stereotyped. Most women tend to label all men as liars and cheaters, but all men are not like that. Some men do care about thier woman's feelings and the woman still sometimes blame a man for stuff that he has no idea about. If a woman blames a man for something that he has not done, that will make him want to go out and do something. Usually its something that a woman done herd from one of their friends. I think the most important thing in a relationship is "TRUST". Without trust the relationship will not last no matter how much two people love each other.

Hi Anthony,

...really enjoyed your blog. It's interesting to hear a man's opinion on relationships for a change . To be honest, I do think that men get a bad rap and I personally feel that we have to stop looking at each other as either men or women but rather as 'people'.

Anthony, I was going to give you a 5 rating until I read the part about compliments - good advice! Seriously, your blogs are very informative & thought-provoking - I have just ordered your book.

Have you read any of the theories of sociobiology? I think they fall in nicely with the perepective you are offering: a man needs to guarantee the survival of his own genetic pattern by spreading his seed as widely as possible. Then, if he is fairly sure a child is his, he needs to protect and defend it until it grows up - the big catch is that it is very difficult to be sure (now DNA helps, of course). Because of the continuing uncertainty, he is still driven to continue spreading the seed - just in case.

However, you have not really looked at the other side of the equation - women.

A woman needs to guarantee her genetic survival by providing the best protection and support for her own offspring - and she has no doubt who they are! Hence, she gives her genetic pattern the best chance by mating with the strongest, smartest & best-equipped-for-life male(s). However, these are not necessarily the best ones to be trusted to rear children - those may be the less agressive, more nurturing, less attractive & even weaker males. Good marriage prospects, but not the 'hotties' we tend to have secret affairs with. Hence, the patterns of how and why women 'cheat' differ completely from male ones, and must necessarily remain much more hidden. We do 'cheat,' but we're just sneakier & better at it than you guys - and, in the case of the French women, not ashamed at all!

Whaddya think? Mary

when u meet your parner and sex is 1,2,5 or more times a week, 9 years later, sex is maybe 1 time a month or 2.
I feel like i have been cheated, or tricked!
The relationship is not what i signed up for, and having brought up the topic, nothing ever gets resolved.

i think lot of motives why men cheat:

1. no more challenge anymore.

2. want to show off to his friends

3. his lover to needy.

The temptation for men is what the real problem is. Women prefer long term lasting relationships. Men has always been the hunter Perhaps it is prudent to say women need to keepo the relationship interesting to stop men from straying?

Hey, I gave your blog a perfect rating because you could not have done a better job making your points. Guys are guided more often than not by their hormones and it's up to the ability of our sub-conscious in the heat of a moment to not act of line. My blog is dedicated to reliving several moments like it. I'm really curious to know what you think.

Some good points. I will admit that. I want to answer your query, "Why is the fact that men biologically want to be with an endless variety of women, wrong?"

It's wrong because it's not good for women. STD's, an absent father, propagation with women who are attractive but weak...None of this is good for the propagation of the species. We can extrapilate that what is good for women, is good for our species.

I like your comments about weak, needy women. If I were a man I would run in the opposite direction too. But let's face it, no weak minded woman is going to be able to "change" after reading your posts. But good for you for stating the obvious. Cheers!
