As Labour's polling continues to tumble towards the core level of around 30 per cent, I am becoming concerned about the future of the party. A while ago, I accepted that victory in 2010 in unlikely (it may not even be desirable), but as the party's a...
As news emerges that the Liberal Democrats are planning their post-election strategy and preparing for a hung parliament, the question emerges: should they support a Conservative government in the event of no party winning a clear majority? (Setting ...

Liberal political blog about news, current events and other issues.
NICE blog!! I've enjoyed perusing it. I've not been in the UK long, and I'm reading everything I can to familiarize myself with the politics, so I'm aware of what's going on, and how things work on more than just the surface level.
What's your take on Gordon Brown's idea of "Britishness" and learning what it means to be British, for people wanting to become citizens, by doing things such as volunteering in the community and such? I'm from the US, and moved here after I married my husband. I personally am FOR the whole idea of really knowing and understanding what it means "to be British" because I think it kind of forces the citizen-wanna-be to understand more about the nation they want to be a permanent part of. I probably don't understand the whole idea fully, but I'm trying to, and your blog definitely helps me with the politics! Thanks.
