I did a lot of research online on how to relieve baby eczema, and I wanted to post this testimony in case it might help someone else with a little one suffering with this. My 18 month old suffered from baby eczema on his shoulders and arms since he was born. The ped first suggested an expensive lotion called "Cetaphyl" and gave us a prescription ointment, but didn't work. Months later, she suggested using a 1% hydrocortisone cream, but said long-term use could cause skin discoloration. (great, huh?) Then suggested using vaseline directly after his every-3-day baths (with virtually NO soap!) Nothing. Ended up giving us an allergy prescription med that I refused to give my then 12-month old. It was terrible watching my little boy (before he could turn over) rub his little shoulders into the sheets, later scratching himself to sleep until he would sometimes scar and bleed a little, so I'd just limp along with the hydrocort cream when it would get bad.
A few weeks ago, we met a chiropractor who gave us a sample of Melaleuca's RENEW lotion. After the first night of rubbing it on my little boy's shoulders THE RASH COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED! I have always been a skeptic about products you can't buy in stores, but this stuff REALLY works, it's comparable to what you'd pay for a premium lotion at the store, and the great part about it is that it is all natural with NO side effects!!! (worked great on my super dry skin, too)
If you've got seriously dry skin or know anybody with eczema, you've GOT to tell them about it. If you want more info, feel free to email me at kelleyebox@hotmail.com

I had this problem for about 2 months last winter. I believe it was from lipstick. It took a long time to heal even after I tossed that brand of lipstick. Aquaphor helped.
