Can I ask why everyone uses text voting for entertainment only. Don't get me wrong, I think it is great that American Idol finds singers that may have never made it. I just know if we starting using text voting for local goverment issues it would only help or even keep politians we vote for in check. I heard my parents complain about an issue past where we live, that was just self serving for a few and not for the good of all.
I found on site enteryourvote.com that host text votes for free. Maybe there are more, but I owuld love to get an unoffical text vote on issues affecting changes in goverment, and then have the results published in the newpapers. Maybe it will make officals think about issues they want to pass.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think using the newest forms of communication helps all.

Obama’s close friends, past and present, read like a Who’s Who of anti-Americans:
His mother and father were both communists.
His mentor during his teen years, Frank Marshall Davis, was a known communist.
He was hand-picked for his first political position by Alice palmer, a communist, who was connected with a group founded by Josef Stalin and funded by the Soviet Union.
His run for the Illinois state Senate was launched by a fundraiser organized at Bill Ayers' and Bernardine Dorhn's Chicago home. They are former terrorists and are communists.
In Chicago, he was an active member of the Chicago New Party, a socialist party. He continues to be involved with this party.
The Communist party USA, Hamas, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, Louis Farrakhan, and a host of other terrorist and communist organizations and people have endorsed him.
For 20 years, he was a member of the church pastured by his close friends and mentor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, a church which preached and supported Marxist philosophy (communist). Wright is anti-American, ant-white, and anti-Israel.
The band that he chose to open his Oregon Rally, a few months ago, open many of their shows by playing the Soviet National Anthem.
Obama advisor, Robert Malley. Malley suddenly cut his advisory ties to the Obama campaign after acknowledging he had talked with Hamas, which is on the State Department list of terrorist organizations.
Obama is an ardent disciple of Saul Alinski, a communist subversive
He has close ties with ACORN, which has been guilty of massive voter registration fraud and actual vote fraud.
He has long had a close relationship with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who is Muslim, anti-American, anti-white, and anti-Jewish.
Michelle Obama is close to Farrakahn’s wife.
He has long been close to Palestinian activist Rashid Khalidi, who reportedly paid Obama’s way through Harvard.
He has had a close relationship with Tony Rezko, the convicted Syrian criminal who gave Obama a sweetheart deal on his Chicago home.
He has received a great deal of funding and support from Austrian socialist George Soros, who is openly dedicated to making America a socialist nation.
The evidence shows that he has received more than $200 million in contributions that could be illegal. He refuses to reveal the sources.
The evidence shows that he has received as much as $61 million in illegal contributions from FOREIGN citizens, which could be considered an act of treason, Allowing foreign citizens to influence our election.
Can it be any more obvious? I know that many will look at this and say that it has to be made up, that no one in America with such a sickening background could ever be this close to being President. But everything written here has been carefully researched and is documented. And most of it has been known for weeks or months, but the liberal media has covered it up, to help Obama win the election.
I ask you, with Obama having these influences, these close friends all through his life, do you not see that his intent is to make this country a communist dictatorship?

Sexy Woman CEO, you really need to check your facts. George W. Bush did not ruin our economy. The FACTS clearly show that he, McCain, and other Republicans did all they could to get the DEMOCRAT Congress to rein in Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. But the Democrats refused to do so. Why? because they were getting huge campaign contributions from these quasi-governmental organizations! And Barack Obama was the one who received the second most money from them! Furthermore, it was one of his advisors, Franklin Rich, who ruined one of those organizations, as it CEO, but walked away with tens of millions of dollars in severance pay. Once again, the Democrats mess things up and then blame the other side for doing so.

Why you should consider voting McCain

Ron Howard has released a pro-Obama video in which he asks the question, 'Why are some people afraid of change?'

The answer is simple.

Throughout his lifetime, Barack Obama has had ties with corrupt politicians - anti-American terrorists - a group that promotes voter fruad - and, his minister of twenty years is a racist who sprews hatred. These are documented facts.

He could not even qualify for a security clearance! And yet we are going to give him total power over us - and access to our most sensitive military secrets? I don't think so!

Everyone blames the Republicans for the mess our economy is in. Just remember that it was a Democrat - Barney Frank - who was supposed to be in charge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - and that it was John McCain who tried to warn us about it two years ago! Experts agree that Obama's economic policies would make the situation worse instead of better - and that the recent plunges in the Dow reflect Wall Street's lack of confidence in an Obama presidency.

Any citizen should have a right to ask our leaders a question. But notice how 'Joe the Plumber' was smeared and harrassed by the media for doing so. It has ruined this hard-working single father's business!

What is this - Nazi Germany?

This is the way people were forced to live under Saddam Hussein!

This is a democracy. It is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Our forefathers shed their blood in order that we might enjoy the freedoms that we have today. And the American people are not going to tolerate having their constitutional rights of free speech taken away from them!

Joe Biden says he expects there will be another terrorist attack in order to 'test' Obama. This is the last thing our country needs. I'll never forget the horror of those innocent people jumping to their deaths out of burning buildings on 9/11.

John McCain does not need to be tested. Because the whole world knows that he's a strong, loyal, and experienced leader who loves this country. Just knowing that someone like him is in charge would act as a deterrent to our enemies and to terrorists - thus reducing our risk of ever having to use our troops in the first place!

What has Obama ever actually done for America - except to aggrandize himself?

Our founding fathers founded this country on Christian principles. Their belief that human life is sacred has been the whole basis for the human rights we have enjoyed - and have championed all over the world.

The majority of Americans are still Christians - and in a democracy, the majority rules. Mainstream America cherishes its Christian values above all else.

Obama's father, grandfather, and step-father were all Muslim - and it is a known fact that some radical Muslims hate the United States.

I have a very dear friend who is a Muslim, and I believe most Muslims are good Americans, who deserve the same rights I have.

However, being the President is not a right, but a privilege - a privilege that should rightly be granted only to those who have passed the acid test of trust -and of character.

Obama has stated that this is no longer a Christian nation. Apparently, that is his wish. He let his contempt for Christians slip when he said, 'See how they cling to their religion?'.

At Saddleback Church, the two candidates were asked to explain their positions on abortion. McCain gave a straight, honest answer - that he is not for it.

But Obama talked all around the issue, trying to 'snow' people in that clever way that he has. At the end of his long spiel, you learned that he is for abortion. But it was worded in such a way as to make it sound less bad - and make the pro-life person feel less bad about it.

He never gives a straight answer. When asked about Bill Ayers, he replies that Bill Ayers is 'a professor of English'. No - Bill Ayers was, first and foremost, a member of the radical Weather Underground. And even Geraldine Ferraro says that he should not be allowed to teach students.

He is clever enough to use this kind of truth-twisting on all of the issues. This is very dangerous.

Those who are Christians, take note: Obama voted against a bill that would ban partial-birth abortions. If you are not familiar with exactly what this entails, look it up. I was taught this as a nursing student.

It is illegal to kill a late-term baby once its head is born. That would be murder. So, in order to get around this, they pull the baby's legs out and - while the head is still inside - stab a hole through its skull, and suck its brains out. Talk about getting away with murder!

Please do not think that any nation who practices such will have the blessing of God. They will not!

The greatest danger facing us today is not the economy, nor is it terrorism. The gravest danger of all - is that of losing our soul. And when that happens, nothing else will matter.

From the beginning of time, charming, smooth-talking politicians have made promises that they can't keep - because they want power.

People today are desperate for change. But are we really so desperate that we will elect a president without knowing who he really is? - and what kind of 'change' we are really going to be in for?

Things could be much, much worse. If you don't believe me, just ask all those people living in oppressive regimes all over the world. They would give anything to have the rights we enjoy - even if it were under President Bush!

So to sum up - in answer to your question, Ron Howard: The reason people are afraid of Obama is NOT because they are 'rednecks', NOT because they are racist or backward or uneducated -

But because Barack Hussein Obama himself has told them - through his associations, through his slips of the tongue when he thought no one was listening - and through his choice of a minister for the last twenty years - who he really is - and how he really feels about whites, Christians, and America.

America has good reason to fear!

We are not fools, Ron Howard.

Have the courage to follow your heart - not the herd.

Vote your conscience. Vote McCain!

If you think a fancy tongue, good speeches and proper grammar makes a great president then Obama is your man. Looks to me we have enough fancy talkers in Washington-I�m ready for some good old fashioned common sense running this country. The smoother they talk the farther I run. We all say we want "change" and there is no doubt we need change, but Obama supporters or anyone thinking about voting for Obama, I have one question for you, What sounds the most like politics� or should I say politicians as usual; A politician who sells the states private jet and shops at local consignment shops or the politician
Who spends over $400,000 on a victory party he has yet to officially win!?
No, I'm no world scholar as I am sure many of you want to be English teachers who like to grade and spell check everyone for perfect grammar will quickly point out - but this COMMON SENSE girl knows real change when she sees it!

I've heard from so many people about how angry and scared they are. They fear that Barack Obama is about to be elected President, that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will gain greater strength for their agenda in Congress, and that America will be more vulnerable to threats from foreign foes who wish our nation harm. And all of this is legitimate cause for concern. The media want Obama to win and they want us to believe this is an inevitable outcome so that we give up and accept their decree that Barack Obama should be President. Are we to elect Obama, a man who has accomplished almost nothing in his tenure in the Illinois State Senate and the U.S. Senate alike, but who has been more than willing to mingle and plot with far-left radicals and anti-American foreigners who wish only harm for our nation? Ask yourself just what President in our nation's history was more of a radical liberal than Barack Obama would be? Will domestic terrorist Bill Ayers be the proto-type of person we can expect to see as Secretary of Education? Would someone like Marxist Obama fundraiser Jodie Evans of Code Pink be Secretary of State or Defense? What post would someone like Revered Jeremiah Wright get? Secretary of State? Who will Obama put on the Supreme Court? You know it's going to be someone who is a radical who will legislate from the bench and overturn the will of the people at a whim and opponse 2nd Amendment rights. Can you imagine the type of person Obama would appoint as ambassador to the United Nations? Undoubtedly, it would be a Blame America First apologist who would be only too happy to accept UN edicts scolding America and telling us how how we are to behave on the world stage. Are we to allow Barack Obama to appoint someone from ACORN to run the Federal Elections Commission or a few of his Chicago and Capitol Hill cronies to oversee our financial markets? I love these United States of America to much to sit back and do nothing and to allow a man like this to become President and Commander in Chief. I will vote on Election Day. I have not decided for whom. BUT I KNOW THAT BARACK OBAMA IS A NIGHTMARE IN WAITING FOR ALL OF US. I will not buy the media hype and vote for Obama.
