http://dogstories.wordpress.com
Fairmount Dog Stories features the every day stories of Sadie and Lily of Fairmount, a neighborhood in Center City Philadelphia. We honor the community of friends and fans of the girls in this blog space. Their exploits are endearing to us. So are the adventures and mishaps of all of their buddies who gather at an open space of Fairmount Park that we refer to as the playground. Join us here to share a moment of reflection about them!

Lily Eyes Her Pawpawty Pwize!
Lily was beside herself with excitement when her Pawpawty Pwize arrived from England on Friday. She shoved the package around the floor where it landed through the mail slot for quite a while. She obviously knew there was something she would like in...
Sadie Helps
Sometimes Sadie helps. This summer she monitored an extensive paint job from the top landing of the staircase. Unlike Lily, who simply hid as far away from the action as possible (on top of the pillows on our bed), Sadie was in the middle of the who...

Sadie the Grump
Sadie has had kind of a bad couple of weeks. She is on steroids and antibiotics to cure a deep skin infection. She lost three upper front teeth – so far. Her vet thinks she might have cancer. None the less, she is defiantly perky. She hops ar...
Lily and Sadie are Best Pals
Lily and Sadie are partners in nearly everything. They are the doggies in the window. We have heard – and sometimes observed – that whole conversations take place between our dogs and passersby. Maybe that is why Sadie is so vocal towar...

I enjoy reading about the adventures of Lilly and Sadie. As a veterinarian, I see a lot of cancer in my Boxer patients. I wanted to write and encourage you to perform a daily 'lumps and bumps' check on Lilly. Like all cancer, early detection is key to helping our pets live a long, wonderful life. Please give Sadie and Lilly a big hug for me. And Lilly, lay off the poor frogs!
