When I was in college, way back in the late '70s ... I had a sudden attack of Fur-sickness. The disorder came about gradually, but then it caught up with me all at once. Fur-sickness, for those of you who have never suffered from this affliction, is ...

  • Domino, Part 4: Dances with Spirits

Posted on Friday October 26th, 2007 at 14:44 in stories about cats

Once in a while, my good friend Domino, the Siamese cat would get that feeling too, or so it seemed. Domino, and perhaps this is characteristic of all Siamese, would stand the hair up on his back, his tail would puff out like it was some kind of gian...

Posted on Wednesday October 17th, 2007 at 08:30 in stories about cats

Domino was always ready to accept a playful challenge, and he was a worthy adversary in roughhouse play. One of the most exciting activities was a game of “Blow and Die”. This game took several minutes to complete a single round, because it looke...

  • Domino, Part 2: The Purple Pillow Stomper

Posted on Tuesday October 16th, 2007 at 03:30 in stories about cats

The quirky part of Domino’s purple pillow fetish is what he would do with it. I don’t think he played with it all that much, aside from batting it around for a few seconds after someone threw it at him. No, his favorite purple pillow activity was...

  • Domino, Part 1: A devil redeemed

Posted on Monday October 15th, 2007 at 04:00 in family pets, stories about cats

When I first met Domino, he had a different name. My “biggest” sister Suzy returned to live with us after earning a college degree as a Spanish teacher. Note: I say “biggest” sister, because she is twelve years my senior, which made her seem...

Thanks Big N:

I have thought about that, and may still try to incorporate that into the website.

I have also thought about doing a few (____)Dog or (____)Cat contests that require an entry fee. Then visitors vote on them. Winner gets 1/3, I keep 1/3 (because my website adventures are eating me alive), and the final 1/3 goes to some Rescue/Shelter fund or something like that.

I don't know if people would pay $5 or $10 to enter, but if enough participate, the purse could easily become something worth winning. We'll see...

Don't know how to add a comment without Rating my own blog, and I certainly am not going to rate it less than Fantastic.... so sorry about that if anyone cares.
