Does anyone have any good ideas for eating out??? I have 3 children and fast food is unfortunately part of my life sometimes. Any suggestions? The book only had one little section about eating out and it was not very helpful. However I am happy to report that I was having lots of problems with my stomach and after 4 days they have almost disappeared.

I went on the fat resistance diet a year after my first child was born. I had gained a lot of weight an was really wanting to slim down. Along with excersizing for an hour 5 days a week, after 2 months on the diet I had gone from a body fat % of 26 to 19 and my weight had dropped from 126 to 115. Everyone noticed the change in me! Plus I had more energy. I had never felt better. In the past i had tried cutting calories to loose weight and I think it had just turned my body into mush.

I know a lot of people have mentioned the price of the diet, The first two phases I stuck to the diet pretty much word for word and it was pretty expensive. After I got the main points of it though, I figured out what foods I could and couldn't eat and came up with a lot of my own meal plans, which cut out costs. A few other things I found that helped the cost was growing my own herbs. Basil is so expensive to by from the grocery store, but it's pretty dang cheap and easy to grown yourself. You can even grow it indoors! I haven't grown tomatoes yet, but I believe they are pretty easy also. Sadly, I went off the diet when I became pregnant with my 2nd child, but I'm going to start again next week. I can't wait!

Hi,
I'm new to this diet/book, which was recommended by my doctor, and WOW - got sticker shock shopping for a lot of the recommended foods. One shouldn't worry the price when striving to become healthy, but as Kimrich stated, it's more for the idly rich.
I realize the recommended foods are rich with anti-inflammatory properties, but are there any other (cheaper) foods that could produce the same results? Californians may have an easier time obtaining fresh items cheaper, but here in the mid-west . . . uff.
Pricing items : Arugula lettuce - $4.95 for 2 cups; shiitake mushrooms $4.75 for 7-8 shrooms, $6.00 for 12 fl oz pomegranate juice . . . to name a few and that doesn't include the salmon or sirloin steak!
Doest this remind anyone of the Southbeach Diet? Seems similar except with pricier components.
I will try to do my best with what I can, but fear I won't achieve the results desired unless I follow the diet to a 'T'. The anti-inflammatory benefits is what I seek for an illness, but the weight loss would be a plus.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Here is a paste of the suggested diet from Galland's website:

On Arising

* Slim Chai Tea

Breakfast

* Tuscan Frittata
* Fresh Orange
* Decaffeinated Coffee with Nonfat Milk

Morning Snack

* Blueberry Yogurt Cup
* Slim Chai Tea

Lunch

* Baby Spinach Salad with Apple and Roasted Walnuts
* Two Tablespoons Pomegranate Lime Dressing
* Slim Chai Tea

Afternoon Snack

* Vegetable Juice

Dinner

* Immune Power Soup
* Green Tea Crusted Salmon with Lemon Ginger Salsa

IMHO, this first day sampler menu is indicative of a great diet for the wealthy unemployed (aka idle rich) among us. Hilarious.

Sorry for the reality check.

If you dislike tomatoes, you can eat delicious fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, cherries or snacks like walnuts and almonds.
