Food Network Musings

I LOVE the Food Network. It combines the best of many worlds - food, warm hosts, HOT CHEFS and unrealistically gorgeous kitchens. I comment on all of that, plus give cooking tips, recipes.

Disappointed Viewer!

I'm very unhappy when readers give my blog one star and don't understand that I AM NOT the Food NETWORK. My blog is ABOUT the Food Network and I criticize it more than anyone. PLEASE if you review blogs, read them first.

I'M a disappointed blogger that you didn't take the time to look at my blog. There are plenty of places that you could have left a thoughtful comment about Anne Burrell and we could have had a nice exchange of opinion. Instead you saw the words Food Network and assumed I WAS the Food Network.

If you take the time to comment, take the time to read what you're commenting on.

My family and I watch the FN on a daily basis. If it were for me I would watch it all day long.My 6yr old and 9yr old have there favorites as well as my Husband and I.It happens to be enjoyable and a g-rated show for the entire family, but to my surprise Saturday Morning August 08,2009 I was awake before the rest of the family and of course the first thing I did is put on the food network.I have never chosen to watch the show secrets of a restaurant chef and I shall never ever watch it again.I was horrified and appauled that Anne's choice of words about peppers being put on a hot grill were CRAP!.When Anne took the peppers off the grill she again said the word crap!I ended up changing the channel because I was disgusted with her choice of words.I began to think of all the FN shows ,and I couldn't think of ONE that uses those choice of words. With all the AWESOME shows and the up and coming ones who needs secrets of a restaurant chef. Sincerely,Disappointed viewer Tucson,Az

I think you misunderstand. I am not the Food Network. I WRITE about the Food Network and I don't like Alton Brown either! I'm not sure why you gave MY blog such a lousy rating and I'm not sure why I'm telling you this, but you can contact the food network HERE:

The worst rating is for the GOod Eats show with Alton Brown.
I cannot find a place to comment on food network shows.
Our family specifically cannot stand Alton Brown's shows (Good Eats) which appear routinely in prime time at 8:00 and 8:30 eastern time on the food network channel.
When so many other good shows are on the Food Network (Bobby Flay, Paula, Giada, and so on...) why is he in prime time.
We just go watch TV elsewhere.
How many other people do the same thing?
Can you direct me to a place to tell the Food Network what i think about this show?

I LOVED your blog. I don`t think that my T.V even gets any other channels besides the Food Nework.

I don't ever get to watch the food network because I don't have cable. So this was a lot of fun for me! I laughed all the way through the Ingrid Hoffman review. Great little blog!

won't watch Alton Brown any longer because he's ridiculous and when Paula Deen uses y'all 3or 4 times in a sentence that's too much and her cackle is really getting to me. Low key is what I like and Michael Chiarella & Ina Garten fill the bill. I want to learn, not be yelled at, and I want to hear proper English, thank you.

How naive of me> I thought Food Network was a show about food and recipes. Now all I see are younger women with long flowing hair and lots of cleavage with very little knowledge of cooking.

I am an avid food network fan and have watched this search for the next network chef. Next time, would it save the network money and time to look to Bobby Flay's throwdown show and look at the people that go up against him. First of all, they have to be at the top of their field to go against Bobby since he is the best. Then, they have great stage presence, and they are not nervous, they entertain the audience and the best of all, the camera loves them and so do the viewers. All the things you are looking for. Kudos to Emeril buying Emeril Jr. a sous chefs mini chefs outfit. By the time he grows up, he will be able to take his place right along side of his dad. So keep up the excellent work. I put the network on in the morning and keep it there cause frankly there is nothing else on worth watching. Perhaps, other stations will get the idea we viewers do not like all the sex and violence. I dont suggest they do food shows cause you have the only one I will watch I'm 78 yrs young and when I see paula, or Sandra Lee, Ina and all the rest do something I try to do it at home. In fact, I am going to make Joan Chang Bobby's throwdown show (spelling) sticky buns.
