Love fruit...if there were such thing as a "fruititarian" that might describe me. There are so many different fruits in the world that we don't find here in the U.S. I once had a craving for a certain type of sour mango that I could not find here in this country at the time. It was maddening! I could taste it in my mouth, in my sleep, wake up to it and my mouth would just water over the thought of it. It wasn't until 2 years later before I was able to find that mango, canned, not fresh, but close enough.
Great site for "fruititarians"

Just started a new fruit diet, meaning I have to increase my fruit consumption, sooo, instead of just buying fruits I normally eat, I'm gonna try new ones.
Loads of fruity info on your site, which means I have some idea of what I'm buying. Thanx

I love fruits. One summer, I spent it just bugging all my friends to tell me about fruits from their homeland that I've never tried. Many of those (Durian, Rambutan) are profiled on this site. And, since I love the history of food (it's so politically charged!) the nuggets of information and the fruit's past keep me wanting more, and are a great jumping off point for those looking for further information.

Hi Andrea: Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, the idea had crossed my mind when I started this blog and trying to include everything to do with fruits but it had taken too much of my time on research that my main concentration drifted. And some of the infos wasn't accurate enough to substantial it. Guessed I have to build this blog on solid ground first before I venture further. Cheers from Fruity

Wow, what an incredibly interesting blog you have. I suffer with CFS and need to eat a balanced diet - unfortunately I get bored with the usual types of fruit and this site will give me loads of new ideas. As a suggestion - have you thought about adding the medicinal uses of/information on these fruits?

FRUIT SPECIES is a facinating blog about fruits you really wanted to learn more about but never managed to do. I can't tell you how many times I wondered what a persimmon looked like inside. And many of the other fruits have been mentioned in books I have read and a question mark formed in my head. The recipes are awesome too!!!
Hugs, JJ
