Gareth Long Education
http://garethlong.blogspot.com
Gareth is deeply involved in the total transformation of an entire education system - that of the Cayman Islands. Every aspect of the education service is being transformed simultaneously, from Early Years through to tertia and life long learning. It also includes the building of four state of the art 21st century "schools of the future" secondaryt and primary. Working very closely with international gurus such as Prof. Stephen Heppell, Prakash Nair, and some of the best education designers and architects on the workd, this is the only place in the world taking this total holistic approach. The blog, with links, follows Gareth in what he calls "one of the most exciting jobs in the world". An experienced school leader of four secondary schools, he specialised in "turning round" failig schools, mainly in the UK. He now acts as Strategic Development Advisor (Education) to the Minister of Education. This blog tracks the progress of the project, shares some good ideas as well as some others and asks a number of questions to be solved.
