My husband & I have spent the last two weeks in Portugal on holiday. The daily papers were full of the Mccann case. I have never read so much false asumptions on a case ever.
My heart goes out to Kate and Gerry and my heart tells me that they did not have anything to do with Maddie going missing. Their big mistake was to leave 3 children alone.
Whilst waiting to fly back to the UK from Portugal I felt so very sad thinking how they must have felt to leave without Maddie. My wish is that someone has Maddie and is looking after her - maybe believing that she belongs to them. My support and love go to Kate and Gerry.

Your belief is frankly immaterial, whether you are a mother and a teacher or not. What matters is only the facts, such as they can can ever be ascertained from the available evidence.
The behaviour of the McCanns on the night in question and on every subsequent day has been extraordinary, to the point of being bizarre. The blog he has been writing is very strange indeed.
It would help if everyone tried to keep an open mind. Voting for guilt or innocence is for countries which have jury systems. The situation is not helped by people with no knowedge at all pooling their collective ignorance.

As a mother and a teacher, I wish to say that I do not believe that Mr or Mrs McCann had anything to do with the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.

It is nothing more, in my honest opinion, than abject policing. The Police have completely bungled this case - they would appear to be devoid of both integrity and intellect.

Mr and Mrs McCann have endured so much pain with their daughter missing and not knowing what has happened to her. To add to their burden, they are subjected to so much more unnecessary pain, with the way that they are being treated by the Police and some of the Media.

We all know and I'm sure that Mr and Mrs McCann would agree, that they made a mistake that night, when they left their daughter to go for a meal. But no-one is infallible and this does not make them murderers.

I. like everyone else, will pray that Madeleine will be found safe and well. But whatever the outcome, I hope that proper justice will be served and that the perpetraters of this evil campaingn against the McCanns, will be brought to book.

My heart bleeds for the McCanns and I would like to convey to them my goods wishes and offer any support I can.

Sincerely

Rita Rees Standish
