This is my garden journal and is absolutely entwined with mine and my husband's business. If we have to pay a mortgage on our little 1 and a bit acre property than the property ought to pay us. It should be beautiful (because I live here), it should be edible (again, because I live here) and it should make us money.Valuing self-sufficiency, local independence and sustainable food production, Home Grown™ was created as the solution. Our Greenhouse and Barn are home to our sustainably grown produce and soon to be pollution-free Tilapia. Our Poly-Culture System utilizes the nutrient water from our fish to irrigate both our hydroponic and soil production.The waste oil from area businesses is collected and converted to bio-diesel. The bio-diesel is then used to heat our Greenhouse during the winter months and provide electricity year round. We have created a more energy efficient model of Sustainable Food Production.
