  • Zend Framework and Doctrine

Posted on Thursday November 19th, 2009 at 22:44 in sql, models, Geek Stuff, doctrine, integration, orm, zend framework, automatic generation

Well it’s looking like Doctrine is the heavy weight data mapping solution of the lot. Zend Framework was often criticized for having no serious Model methods. Models was just sort of where you put your nuts and bolts database code. Some folk...

  • How to integrate a jQuery plugin into Yii Framework

Posted on Friday November 13th, 2009 at 15:59

I have been studying up on Yii framework as a potential alternative to Zend. It has its pluses and minuses. Yii framework comes with jQuery included at the core. It was ridiculously easy to download a jQuery plugin, drop it in as a black box, foll...

  • Twitter list apps

Posted on Monday November 2nd, 2009 at 20:03

They couldn’t be too long in coming! The best thing about Twitter is its API. I was told by someone in the know that 90% of Twitter’s traffic comes through its API, not through people directly surfing it. Anyway, the new lists are GREA...

  • Twibbons for Toonlet

Posted on Sunday November 1st, 2009 at 16:54

Here’s a little Twitter app for you while we all wait for some serious list apps: This one is called twibbon, and what it does is overlays a little icon over your twitter avatar to show you support something. First I placed the zend framework...

  • Toonlet with Audio

Posted on Thursday October 29th, 2009 at 02:15

I just clipped each individual frame of one of my toonlets and put them in an open office presentation. Then I fired up Berio and ran the slideshow fullscreen while I read the lines. Then I imported the whole thing into IMovie, clipped the beginnin...

  • Berio Free Video Screen Capture for Leopard

Posted on Tuesday October 20th, 2009 at 17:47 in education, videos, Free, download, audio, leopard, av, capture, Geek Stuff, macosx, video capture, berio

Camtasia is awesome, but pricey. For the likes of me, who doesn’t do video screen capture for a living, the price just isn’t justified. Leopard comes with an app to do capture, but it requires a hookup to a MacOSX server. Out of luck a...

Layout: Nice... You've put the 3-column style to the fullest use effectively. But reduce the no. of widgets... The site's quite 'heavy'... Took full 1 and half minutes to pull the page up completely...

Color scheme: Wow, the famous KDE blue and silver... Looks superb on your blog...

Content: Hmm... Nice variety... I'm not much of a foodie, (especially of the healthy variety) so didn't go thru it...

Writing style: According to your writing style, i'll rate you as something between a geed and a nerd (just my imagination!)... Not a bit dorky though... Dork is a term of abuse favored by American youngsters, designating the target as quirky, awkward, eccentric, socially inept or simply of lower status. You're way above that...

And you blog a lot!!! I've seen at least 3 other sites where you're posting... (Wonder where you get so much time!!!) You're a hell of a Blogger... A very geeky one...

All in all this site is worth checking out...
Have already subscribed to your feed thru thunderbird...
