Mr. Shaw,

Wow...I must say I'm impressed that you took the time to personally address my question on your blog, and in such a timely manner as well. Thank you for taking the time to do that, and I figured that was the case, and can understand the complexity of each situation your agents encounter with the celebrities. Thank you again, it seems like an interesting industry to be involved with, have you written any books or other materials to shed some more light?

Jake,

Wasn't me, but my staff on that occasion. Sorry the request upset you but please keep in mind that taking a celebrity into a public setting is very difficult; the agents have a lot to process including the artist, store and malls request. Sometimes one camera phone turns into several dozen in a matter of moments so it's just a matter of policy to request that. Thanks for taking the time to write, and I hope that sheds some light. Again no offense meant.

Mr. Shaw I had an inquiry regarding the practice of personal protection for celebrities. I was in Las Vegas for New Years this year and on New Years Day I entered the Burberry store in the Venetian. I was there to look at my two standard Burberry items, watches and polos. It just so happened that I noticed Usher Raymond, and I believe you at the back of the store. I mentioned this to the person with me, but specifically asked them not to pay any special attention as I'm sure he just wanted to relax with his friends and wife. I went about my business shopping and as always had my phone in my hand. As I walked by you (I believe it was you) you told me to put my phone away. I instinctively said yes, but afterwards questioned why you would have me do this. It upset me because I am not the type of person who would hassle or harass celebrities and would rather think of them as people just like myself. I was just wondering what the reasoning behind this may have been? Thank you.
