Intertik - Time Management System
http://intertik.com
The problem that I will address in this blog is the current reality of people being extremely busy, usually “overbooked” and unable to effectively handle their day in a way that all (or at least most) actions performed during the day are aligned with their real objectives.
This problem seems to have increased in the last few years. With the advancements in technology, specially in the field of Communications, many people became much more productive (perform more activities per time unit), however, they also find themselves busier than ever, overwhelmed with large numbers of "to do" lists, usually with no connection whatsoever with one another.
Our fast-paced society can make our lives very cluttered, and leave us with a feeling that there are always things to do. For many people this situation becomes worse as the time goes by, because of its cumulative effect and their inability to handle it correctly. The backlog and the errors usually increase the clutter (leading to missed due dates, appointments, documents, calls, information, etc) and therefore the level of stress and frustration increases as well, perpetuating the situation.
This situation does not leave any room for people to focus and achieve objectives, and be satisfied; or even worse, prevents people from even having objectives, which takes the frustration one step farther to the point of living an unbalanced and purposeless life. In business environments, this problem leads to mismanaged organizations, frustrated employees, poor image, and of course decrease in profit.
The goal of applying the Time Management System (TMS) is to respond to these problems, and I will intend to shed light on how to effectively implement it.
One of the various definitions of “system” is "an organized assembly of resources and procedures that interact to accomplish a specific function". We will explore the various Resources and Procedures of our TMS, their interaction, and how they enable us to effectively handle our time, focus on our objectives, realize our accomplishments while enjoying the process.
