Brian WhelanGreat site.
Here's a question that's been met with disinterest with many I've talked to.
There are hospitals within Dublin that actively advertise local accommodations within the areas of the hospitals who are happy to ' collect potential guests and drop them back to the hospital ' at no extra charge than the night's stay. Surely this is illigal practice.

Dana & Co.Great website for news
derek fitzgeraldI am a wheelchair accessable taxi in cork and have been asking various knowalls about the grant for the purchase of new wheelchair taxis. What I can't understand or get a straight answer is, if she wants to put 200 new wc taxis on the road at a cost of 2 million to the minister of finance to cover the VRT and VAT what did she do with the 8 milion she got from the issuing of new license plates? Why can she not use this money to subsidise them?. Maybe you might throw some light on this if you can.
Yours in the trade

Derek

World Aids Day, December 1
Today in your spare time, remember all of those lives lost to HIV and AIDS. You can make a difference in the global fight against HIV and AIDS. World AIDS Day isn't just about one day. With infection rates continuing to rise globally there is a great deal still to do, so get involved.
HIV is one of the biggest social, economic and health challenges in the world. It is a global emergency claiming over 8,000 lives every day. In fact 5 people die of AIDS every minute.
Young people (under 25 years old) account for half of all new HIV infections worldwide - around 6,000 become infected with HIV every day.
During 2007 more than two and a half million adults and children became infected with HIV. By the end of the year, an estimated 33 million people worldwide were living with HIV/AIDS. The year also saw two million deaths from AIDS, despite recent improvements in access to antiretroviral treatment.
Despite best efforts from governments, non-profit organizations and healthcare practitioners around the world, HIV and AIDS is still having huge global impact.
More than 25 million people have died of AIDS since 1981.
