This blog is maintained by a former University of Wyoming student who witnessed the events surrounding the murder of Matthew Shepard and is now trying to think through her own personal experience with the tragedy against the portrayal of it in Moisés Kaufman's play "The Laramie Project." A mixture of personal history and literary analysis, the site will analyze the play as a cultural phenomenon, a literary work, and a way to understand the problems inherent in creating a coherent identity from one's experiences.
