Most people will tell you it’s smart to note the location of all emergency exits upon entering a room. And while I think this is sound advice, I say it’s just as important to note the PEOPLE hanging around these life-saving doorways. When the time comes for you to run screaming from the building, it’s good to know who can be shoved out of the way vs. who can be trampled on.
Seriously, if this is the first time you’ve been prompted to think of this kind of stuff… it means you haven’t been reading my blog. But that’s OK, I’m just thankful nothing has happened to you after walking into so many rooms unprepared. Sure, the guy in the corner looks innocent enough, but you might very well have to take him down to ensure your own safety. And what about that girl in the red sweater? Or how about the quiet grandma handing out butterscotch? Are those crocheting needles sticking out of her pocket, or poisonous darts meant to impede your escape?
