Hi all!
Just wanted to share the following new (I think) resume service. I was layed - off over a year ago. I sent over 700 resumes via mail, e-mail, fax and so on. I did get some hits, but, nothing ever came to fruition. My college roommate e-mailed me something called verifiedresume. I went to the site and read about it. I had never heard about it but, it was interesting. they verify all of the information on your resume, send you a letter on thier letter head and raised seal stating your info was verified and a criminal background check was completed. I got the background report instantly and the letter in the mail in three days, or so. I sent out the resume and coverletter indication i used this service and I actually got two calls in about 8 days. once did work out and I am still there now. interestingly, i continue to get interest about my resume. i did nothing differently other than have everything verified. i researched the company prior to getting it done and they are very well known and highly reccommended. even if i didn't get any activity from it, just having my background check and finally seeing what one actually looks like was very, very cool. the company was compliant background screening partners llc. the address is www.compbs.net.
anyway, hope this could help some of you all.
best,
James

Hi Guys
Thank you for the articles.
A fantastic site I have just used is RedStarResume. It was created by a bunch of guys in who worked in recruitment who decided that after years of writing peoples resumes to create a website to offer affordable (yes there are sites which charge hundreds of $$$)resumes.
Check them out - They also have a section "Tips from the Pros" which offer free advice
Good luck
Tommy
