I am getting ready to return the second 3-cup Keurig coffee maker to Bed Bath and Beyond. Problems with both are partial brewed cups. Also, this last machine quit making coffee all together.

Keurig may be rated high but as far as I'm concerned they sell a substandard product.

I have had this 3 cup size maker since Christmas. It continues to give me problems. It starts giving you 1/2 cups, then when you take cup away, the other spills all over the counter. Then you descale it, but after ~2-4 cups, the descale light comes on again, then you descale it again, it last a few days or sometimes a few cups. So in less than a month, I have now descaled 3 x's. During this time, sometimes the water puts 1/2 in cup and 1/2 back in to water reservoir. I have called Customer S several times. They have me pull things apart, use a toothpick on several parts, then I test it a few times with plain water and a K cup. Next day, problem is back again. They also tell me to use pin and poke hole in K cup before I put it in machine. Machien still malfunctioned. During trouble shoot, I'm told to twist K cup holder off. I do and it breaks. They promise they will send me a new one right away. A week later I get a "new reservoir"??? Can't even get replacement parts right. I Call again, because it is not working after last troubleshooting, I'm told to plug in outlet 1/2 way, hear a "click", pull it out; then repeat 10 times. Never clicked or made a sound when I tried that. Now I have been without a coffee maker for a month. I only use this maker ~3 days/week and turn it off on the 4 conseq days I don't use it. Other huge issue I have is you have to explain everything, everytime, to everybody that they transfer you to. I reply "read notes from my last 2 calls". They reply, we are not allowed to read someone else's notes. So you have to start all over. One rep tells you if prob reoccurs, they want machine returned to analyze it, but will replace it. The following week, the Next CS call they tell you to do something else. I am very unhappy with this machine or I have just gotten a lemon and I am tired of wasting so much time on the phone with multiple Keurig people. Once month is long enough.wasting. always tell me to do something new, but the problem never gets solved. I feel I have a lemon, or the machine is just an inferior product.

This is a great Coffee and Ice tea brewer when it works. My Husband got me the B70 for Valentinesday today he is returning it for the 2nd time. The store owner told us he will stand behind the brewer and to bring it back if we have any problems with it. Here it is almost August and we are on brewer #3. We have done everything as we were told, bought the filter used only filtered water, but still the thing stopped working. Kinda fustrating, but we are willing to give it one more try, after this we will be done with the Kurig. And will return to pods.

I really don't know how to use these blogs but I am asking for help. After my auto drip maker broke, I saw a Keurig in action and went out and bought one. I am not happy. I purchased all these sample boxes of extra bold and other varietals. (Sumatra, Ethiopian, etc etc) I find on the middle setting, the coffee is weak but bitter, not bold. These coffees are terrible. If I am told to use the smallest size setting, I'd be back for seconds within a minute. Everyone drinks out of mugs! And even on the middle setting, it's not enough coffee. How I wish I bought another auto drip so I could have my Costco brand Kirkland Colombian again. I guess I will have to buy one of those filters but I hear those don't work too well either. Any suggestions out there?

I can only assume you are not putting the lid on properly. I used the "My-Kcup" filter for a year. It makes a better cup of coffee because you can adjust the amount of coffee you use. You can also use fresh ground coffee which gives you more options. The only issue I had after about a year was that, because the holder is plastic, eventually the tabs that hold the lid off eventually chipped off. Then I had the problem similar to what you have. So I bought another one. At $14.95 for the filter, I believe this is a small price to pay.
Bottom line, if you want to use your own coffee and reduce the cost per cup, the filter is the way to go.

I believe that Keurig is probably correct. Generally well water will have a higher mineral content than city water.

It would be a good idea to descale your brewer at least once a month with full strength vinegar. Fill the reservoir to the top and run it until it is empty and then run fresh water thru it. I had a similar problem in a town that had fairly hard water that they where getting from wells.

Another option, if you have access is to buy the big bottles of filtered water. Generally Keurig recommends that you use filtered water if you can.

As far as customer service, I believe they are excellent. I had a problem with 2 separate brewers that where still on warranty. On the first one the digital display stopped working. I phoned Keurig and explained the situation. They asked a few questions and then said they would ship me a new brewer. I had it in a week. I didn't even have to ship the old one back.
On the second the water reservoir was leaking at the base connection. I phoned Keurig and they sent a new reservoir immediately.

I hope you can resolve your problems.

How can anyone design such useless item as the The Keurig Re usable filter holder. The machine shoots water through the coffee and uses less than 50% of the coffee. Doesn’t' matter how much or little coffee is in the filter, what you get is lousy coffee and allot of dry coffee left in the basket.
Is this done on purpose? So the owner only uses the pricey K cups??

My fourth Keurig, the B60 recently stopped working. Keurig's customer service asked a few questions and told me that the problem resulted from using well water. This after only a year and a half of use. The others, B50's I've given to my married children and none have yet malfunctioned.

My rating is based upon a customer service that seemed a bit too cavalier in their diagnosis considering there is no warning, that I'm aware of, stating that well water will kill the coffee makers ability to function. Only a couple months ago, without any visual sign, descaled the brewer. It would seem that if the suggested method of descaling is adequate, I would have no problem.

I hope no one else has this problem because it's an expensive one considering the cost and relatively short lifetime, at least using water from my well.
