Very well designed blog. I was most fond of the feature that displays the author of a comment's most recent blog post. I hadn't seen that before and thought it was the touch that puts this blog up there amongst the best I've seen.

Rock'n concept! Rock'n start! Alert me to animal/pet kiwipulses!
note: web designer here too. you have a graphic site = big is better, so refrain from thumbnails unless you feel a need for a lot of images in a particular post. Just upload one width that works for you that is a little smaller than your post column width. 400 pix wide is a good place to start. you can still link to a larger image if you felt a need.

Hi Kiwipulse!
Thanks for joining my neighborhood - and welcome!
I've been reading through your blog and found it extremely interesting.!
I'd like to offer a few suggestions (as a web designer,) if I may:
You're photos need to be optimized since the load time in three different browsers was very slow - tested in Opera/Firefox/IE.
Convert your images to .png (portable network graphic,) format. These are also the only other image format, that you can save as transparent if you want to at some time also, (like gif images.)
With the really big images, think about only using thumbnails, so that when surfers click on them, they'll be taken to the source image size.
Alternatively, you can slice them into smaller chunks, so that each piece will load separately (and a lot faster.)
Hope I've helped a little!

I remember tin soldiers from the 1940s although I believe they were made of lead. Probably forbidden today. I remember melting down a car battery to get the lead to try to make my own. I had a problem with the mould.
