Jonathan GalIn the space of a few years, The Republican Party has gone from being a mature, bold, patriotic, protector of American liberties to being a whining, complaining bunch of irrational, reactionary children who don't want to fair and balanced competition in the energy industry.
During the Bush Administration, Republicans often argued that liberals were whiners and complainers. Well, that label has now shifted onto them, particularly those here in Texas who fight against good science and responsible environmental stewardship.
The irony of it is that Republicans try to simultaneously claim the mantle of "responsibility" as a core value. What is responsible about polluting the environment? We breath the air around us, and it circulates globally, not to mention nationally. We drink the water near us, and water is undoubetedly an interstate issue.
For Republicans to hide behind the false veil of states rights, in order to protect profits and shirk environmental responsibility is, in a word, poor irresponsible leadership. Some Republicans in Texas want to secede, claiming that they have a right to be free of federal stewardship by simply walking away from a union that has given them incalculable benefits over the years and decades.
That is just as irresponsible as aborting a child. I agree with my fellow Republicans that abortion is immoral. It is a shirking of responsibility that violates core human rights ..... just like dumping toxins into the air or into the groundwater is a shirking of responsibility.
Responsibility is a two way street. We Republicans don't get to stand proudly for one form of responsibility while neglecting and even worse, sabotaging other forms of responsibility.
I joined the Republican Party, after many years as an independent. I have always agreed with many of the principles espoused by the Party, but the reason I have always hesitated about joining it is that it hardly ever practices what it preaches.
During 2004, I converted from my unaffliated status to the Republican Party and even volunteered for the Bush campaign. My primary reasons were (1) partiotism, (2) moral support for the troops, and (3) Bush's steadfastness on tax reductions (unlike his father).
Now, I see the old Republican party returning. The hypocritical, irresponsible, and immoral party is back ... sad to say.
After receiving a massive federal stimulus in the form of a costly War, the energy industry, through its lobbying arm called, "The Republican Party of Texas", tries to make the disingenuouly high minded argument that alternatives should compete without subsidization, implying that the old energy industry is a fully self-sufficient and unsubsidized group of companies!! HOGWASH !!!!
The old energy industry is now bidding on Iraqi energy contracts, something that would not have been possible without the blood, sweat, tears, and - yes - federal subsidization of the Iraqi war.
Furthermore, the resumption of peaceful, top quality oil flow from Iraq will depress oil prices, making it more difficult for new energy technologies to get off the ground and achieve the industrial momentum needed to reduce their costs of production.
So, the energy industry, through its lobbying arm, The Republican Party of Texas, is benefitting from massive federal subsidization while hypocritically trying to claim that domestic alternatives should compete on the "fair playing field" of unsubsidized energy ... all the while shirking environmental responsibilities as if they were ants on the ground.
PATHETIC!!! TRULY PATHETIC!!!
The Party that I joined during 2004 was a principled party that did not shirk responsibility, not this pathetic group of children hiding behind the false and outdated arguments of Southern Democrats from the 1850s & 1860's.
C'mom folks, the Republican Party is the Party of Abraham Lincoln!!! Not the party who tried to walk away from its Union Responsibilities in the 1850's. That was the other guys, remember???!!!!
Why are we adopting the mantle and the behavior of the very people we were formed to fight against???!!!!
It's no wonder people are leaving the Party in droves!!!!
I may next, if this Party continues to behave like the Southern Democrats of the Civil War Era ... irresponsible children, unwilling to compete in business without a rigged playing field.

FrankRepublican minds are like dinosaurs, EXTINT.. their brains can never accept
a multicultural society... I think because the majority of their base is southern hillbillies... uneducated, racist, intolerant.
And to add to their problems they get this ultra rigth wing talk show host that just add more hate to inmigrants and minorities to the mix.. poisoning them even more. Republicans without the hispanic vote will NEVER again be able towin any elections .
AndyEvery Republican needs to follow the below instructions:
Republican Senators who voted for the Stimulus Package were Sen. Specter (R-PA), Collins (R-ME), and Snow (R-ME) may need defeated in the next election however there is an interim step that can be taken by the Republican Leadership that would make life quite stressful and embarrassing for these three. Without the vote of these 3, the Stimulus package would not have passed.
Senator Spector is the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senator Snowe is the ranking member of the Senate Small Business Committee
Senator Collins is the ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee
As ranking member is a Senator who is a member of the minority (in the present the Republicans) and who has a status above their colleagues. You can find out more about the ranking members at http://www.senate.gov/general/common/generic/officer_responsiblities.htm
Ranking members for each committee are appointed by the leadership. Ranking Members have the following privileges amongst others:
1. Larger and more attractive office
2. Larger staffs
3. Bigger budgets
4. More status
The Republican Senate Leaders, McConnell, Kyl, Alexander, Cornyn, and Ensign can remove the ranking privileges of these Senator's for not voting on the most important position of the caucus the Stimulus Bill. Tell everyone you know to contact each of these Senators, who are the Republican leaders in the Senate, at the following numbers and tell them to remove the ranking privileges of Senator Collins, Snowe, and Spector.
Senator McConnell - (202) 224-2541 - Minority Leader
Senator Kyl - (202) 224-4521 – Minority Whip
Senator Alexander - (202) 224-4944 – Conference Chair
Senator Cornyn - (202)-224-2934 – Conference Secretary
Senator Ensign - (202) 224-6244 – Committee Chair
In addition, you can call the House Republican Leaders and urge them to call their Senate Leadership colleagues (above) and to urge their Senate counterparts to remove the ranking privileges of Senator’s Collins, Snowe, and Spector The House leaders are:
Rep. John Boehner - (202) 225-4000 – Minority Leader
Rep. Eric Cantor - (202) 225-0197 – Minority Whip
You can also call your Senator or Representative to do the same thing. You can find their numbers for the Senate at http://www.senate.gov/index.htm and for the House at http://www.house.gov/
With your help we can be successful in altering the Stimulus Bill in conference to better reflect our values. This will only happen if we can bring Senators Collins, Snowe, and Spector back into the fold. If we can’t then we’re probably better off without them and new blood in these ranking member leadership positions. This issue may be the most important issue in our country’s history. Don’t sit by and let it just happened.
KlaatuTeammates food for thought -
- our false ideology
President elect Barack Obama needs to write George W. Bush, his administration and most of the current & former Republican congress a thank you note. President Bush and his administration are "fake" conservatives; globalists really, out of touch with the working class in America. A group that dreams about the completion of the North American Union at any cost. No free market solutions are to be brought to the table on keeping the US economy alive and/or jobs here in the USA. Outsourcing of US jobs is expected by the Globalists. Globalization first, country second.
Yes, MaCain's presidential campaign slogan "Country First" was the only thing that was right for GOP. Borders, language and culture will come back to the US, when its citizens align themselves with country first.
I know there is always someone in the background screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs asserting that they have all the answers. It also confirms to me the Republican Party is trying and/or needs to re-establish itself with mainstream America. I would advise the "next/new" GOP to stay away from the globalist/politically correct ideology. You know - the one that got us here in the first place:
- where everyone in the USA (citizen & non-citizen alike) aligns themselves with a different race, union and/or lobbyist group; but, no country, just entitlement.
- where from time to time it is impressive in the US eyes to proclaim another government in the world "must be democratic" to do business with (weather you agree or not - everyone knows Iraq was a threat to Israel; & Colin Powel w/ others thought WMD was in Iraq before the now US occupation).
- and where everyone domestically in the US deserves a house; even bad credit risks (i.e., no doc loans, jumbo mortgages, etc.).
Then, you add a little business & political corruption into the equation and it gets even worse. Sound familiar?
- gone socialist - could get much worse
Now that the "GOP has failed to represent conservative America; both Democrats & Republican's ideology has gone socialist on a domestic and international level. Moreover, the dream of equality & diversity on a global level is growing every day and is unrealistic. We cannot even fight a war without it being politically correct. The major problem with this way of thinking is it leaves out free market solutions to put the US economy first for every citizen.
The same people that insisted we elect moderates such as McCain bailed when he was finally made the front runner for the party. They wanted to appease the left, there was no way that McCain would lose with the independent vote. Guess what, we still lost.
The GOP has to decide where it wants to go these next four years. Will we sit back and complain or will we take responsibility and repent of our political sins? Present solutions, put them forth and then you have the right to complain.
Maybe we are not taking about the GOP after all. Perhaps it is a grass roots campaign, a new party. A group that is "US centric" and ready to play hardball capitalism for every US citizen. A movement that uses free market solutions frequently to act upon. A country first approach to secure our borders; yet welcomes legal immigration (legal immigrants are a great and fantastic part of our culture). A change that enforces written contracts when dealing with other countries and/or companies to secure the US advantage (We liberated Iraq, now give us some oil). Gee! A Govt. the represents the people.
Bill RiderI think that most of us Reagan Democrats and the Conservative Republican, where just plain flat shocked on the outcome of the election. To think a Black, terrorist lover, disrespectful of America, anti-patriot, extreme liberal would be elected to the Presidency, just slapped us all in the face.
However if you look at this result, it wasn’t completely our fault. This was a very well thought out plan which was hatched years ago in Chicago. Image the following happening. But first you have to see the detail to understand.
Just days after the election John McCain meets with Obama in a closed room, to discuss what?
Now let’s turn the clocks back to Chicago, with Obama’s affiliations when he was running for the Senate, Acorn, and his thought process of having all his opponents eliminated from the ballot. WIN AT ALL COST. He managed to do that in his Senate Election, so he was the only candidate on the ballot,
Now come to the future, McCain out of money out of the race, and why because the Conservative Republicans know John McCain as a RINO (Republican in Name Only), we really don’t like him and he knows it. So a plan is hatched make McCain the Republican Nominee and wow you will win hands down. What’s in it for John McCain, nationwide notoriety, publicity for a politician, who is for most parts unknown and un-liked, and more money and maybe a leadership role in Obama’s administration? What a better way to get back at the Republicans who have told him to his face they did not like him.
So, out of nowhere McCain gets money and becomes the nominee, how did this happen, we all failed to look to Acorn and Obama, no one checked the ballots, because we just assumed that Republican’s picked him.
However, think about this, in the election of a lot of candidates. If the Republican is the best candidate but on the Democratic side are two candidates, one very good and the other very bad, meaning that if the bad candidate gets the nominee for the democratic party, it is more than likely he will lose to the Republican, so, the Republican’s in the primary vote for the bad democrat, so that the Republican candidate will oppose the worst Democratic candidate, GUESS WHAT HAPPENS, THE REPUBLICAN WINS.
THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PRESIDENCY; THE WORST REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE BECAME THE NOMINEE, AND OBAMA WON. JUST WHAT WAS PLANNED, AND I THINK WITH MCCAIN’S HELP.
chrisSarah Palin Supporters:
rednecks
creationists (mad people)
The under-educated.
If you are a fan of Palin you are one of the above (though of course your too stupid to know it)
ChrisWith a Democratic majority now there is only one platform that we as Americans can follow and must demand from this point on.
We have heard promises over the years from the Democratic Party that they have not been able to keep which lead to them blaming all other parties for the failure of what they wanted. At this point they have no excuse or scape goat to fall back on and MUST fulfill all promises from this point on.
I demand the following
¢ï¿½¢ Lower gas prices
¢ï¿½¢ Offshore Drilling (this is a new one and they are ¢ï¿½ï¿½going to look at¢ï¿½ï¿½ however they promised)
¢ï¿½¢ Resolve the energy crisis and dependence from foreign oil
¢ï¿½¢ Alternate energy sources
¢ï¿½¢ Lower taxes
¢ï¿½¢ No hidden taxes
¢ï¿½¢ Wasteful spending put to an end. (Sorry that is the Republicans that want this to end)
¢ï¿½¢ To be able to afford a home and if I default I will be protected
¢ï¿½¢ My kids will have a college education.
¢ï¿½¢ That our children will graduate regardless of their knowledge and or abilities.
¢ï¿½¢ Reform of Wall Street
¢ï¿½¢ Reform of Government spending (where is the scalpel)
¢ï¿½¢ No leadership through lobbyist
¢ï¿½¢ Health care reform
¢ï¿½¢ Everyone shall have insurance at no extra cost to me
slyObama has the ability to make this country stronger, more united and take us beyond the crippling divisions of race and political affiliation.
Finally Black people can stop using "racism" as a crutch to pursuing a good education. Blacks and impoverished whites can transform their ghettos into safe law abiding communities. Black people can start contributing to America beyond the national sports leagues and music.
Blacks can be better, cleaner, quiet and more respectful neighbors. Blacks and impoverished whites can help make the streets of America safer. And millions of white people will look past color, look past cultural divides, look past political parties and vote for an intelligent and capable American.
Maybe, half of what he is trying to accomplish will work and this country will be a better place because of it. Maybe his spirit, his intelligence and his balance will make our political parties and races come together.
CoastDamuHaving studied advanced divinity studies at my local university, I did happen to research on US Foreign Relations in Africa particularly with regards to the present US Govt.
Take an example, did we know that not only did Dick Morris participate in helping Kenya's PM Odinga to try and win their disastrous 2007 elections, but also the US Govt and actually favoured Odinga over the other guy in the Kenyana Elections.
In July 2008, PM Odinga visited USA and was hosted by US Govt Officials at the highest level, spoke organizations like the Council for Foreign Relations, CSIS Statesmen Forums, Hosted by Congress Leaders and also met with senior security advisers.

Michael WrightDavid Boren, who endorsed Obama, was outed as queer in the gay press in 1993. He was also being accused of sexually harassing his male staff members. That is the real reason why he resigned from his seemingly safe U.S. Senate seat during the following year. For publications in the gay press about Boren, see this youtube video and click on the link in the text box for scans of excerpts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6FWi7k8yhc
Boren wants a Washington appointment from Obama. Republicans should be prepared to tell your Senators not to confirm him if Obama gives him one.
nckMcCain spreads tax progressively to all earners, but focusing on a massive concentration in the upper 2 or so percent.
Washington Post has a simple chart which shows the reality of each candidates plan.
Also, over the next ten years, McCain's plan will cost more than $500,000,000 more than Obama's....thats half a trillion more.
AnnaObama will win the election.
vnguyen101We need to turn this campaign around. It is in a downward spiral. The messages are incoherent. Not only is Senator McCain and his campaign delivering different messages on different days, but the ads say one thing and the person (Senator McCain) says another.
Is Senator Obama dangerous or not? We ran an ad saying that he is a dangerous man - which we all agree - yet he went on and say that people should not be “scared” of Obama as president. What?
Let's stay on message. We can disagree with the person in te audience for calling Obama “Arab” but that does not mean he is not dangerous or that we should not be scared. We darn right should be scared because this election is about not just experience and steady leadership (no one cares about experience at this point — otherwise, Oboama would not be where he is and Gov. Palin would not be on the ticket) but about where this country will be heading and the basic principle and philosophy of McCain vs. Obama.
Do we want a radical leftist, a socialist, a Marxist, running this country at this moment in time, or any moment at all? Do we want someone with shady past and associations running the country at this moment in time? Do we want radical leftists (Obama, Pelosi, Reid) controlling both the White House as well as the Congress?
Wake up. The only way for us to change the game is for us to define the playing field and stay on message. We will not win if we play Obama’s game -— economy. We are at a disadvantage. When the economy goes bad, the party in the White House gets the blame no matter what really triggered it (Fannie and Freddie -— brain child of the Democrats).
So let Obama talk about the economy. We just need to reassure people that we will fix it and steps are already being taken to help stabilize it. Stay calm and our productive and innovative work force will turn this economy around. We always have.
Stay on message about differentiating our philosophy — smaller government, personal responsibility, strong military, national security, conservative judges — versus a radical leftist, a community organizer (ACORN), who wants government to take over every aspects of our lives, who together with the liberal media will censor free and open debates/ideas, who will appoint radical liberal judges that will legislate from the benches.
This is how we change the game and hammer home why this campaign exists and why we must not allow Obama in the White House. We need to run ads to spread our messages and we need to amplify our messages on the stump and in meetings, and in debates. And our messages must be consistent and coherent.
We cannot pander and step back because we are afraid of the liberal media. Doing so is cowardly. Doing so is stupidity because we essentially fight with our hands behind our back.
As long as we stay with the facts and be angry for the right reasons that this radical liberal has gotten a pass from the liberal media (painting him as a main stream American — HE IS NOT) why must we be afraid of speaking, of screaming, of yelling until our messages are heard in every town, city, and state in this great country? Yes, a great country that Obama and his lots hate.
Tell the stories, speak the facts, hit home our messages of why we are better for America, of why people should be fearful and scared of the prospect of Obama in the White House and Pelosi and Reid in Congress together.
This is not fear mongering. This is about the future, the safety, the security, and the prosperity of this country we are figthing for and defending.
Let's change the game. Let's focus people's attentions on what is really at stake in this election and not let the economic issue clouds everyone’s judgment.
We must stay on our message. One, Obama is a dangerous radical leftist who wants government intrusion in every aspects of our lives. Two, Obama is a radical leftist who will appoint radical liberal judges to legislate from the benches. Three, Obama is a radical leftist who has shady past and associations (Ayers, Rezko, and radical community groups like ACORN). Four, Obama is a radical leftist who have pushed for the policies that allowed the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie which is the root of our economic problem today.
Stay on message.
JojoThis has to be the best one liner delivered in a movie. Really worth a watch before the election...

David HodgesWell Richard that was a very well thought out well worded and completely pointless bunch of tripe. How dare you have the audacity to attack her on her religion at the very least she is being true to who she is. See as a Christian myself I believe that you should proclaim and praise him before man. Fare be it to tell anyone what to believe but let's be fare here and recognize the fact that Obama's pastor mister Wright is on tap as much as ten year's ago with a rant that is very comparable to that of Hitler Bin laden Charles Manson but for ten more year's Obama attended and even donaited to his church. I ask you witch scares you more? David Hodges
Richard JohnsonMedia attention focused quite a bit on Sarah Palin’s speech at the GOP convention. As many have commented, she was high on style, low on substance. But let’s look at something she said at a smaller occasion, something that is in its way substantive, and when considered carefully, quite frightening.
In a speech given at the Wasilla Assembly of God commencement ceremony, Sarah Palin said that American should pray “… for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." [reported by Gene Johnson of the Associated Press]. My initial reaction to reading this statement was cynical; I thought, “It’s good to know someone has a plan, because the current administration sure doesn’t (and hasn’t since the beginning)." I smiled to myself at my private witticism, and prepared to move on to other reading. However, something about that statement didn’t sit right with me. I read it over a few times, digesting it.
Then it hit me: I had seen this kind of rhetoric before. In 1998 when Osama bin Laden released a fatwa to the Arab world, it contained pleas such as the following: "We -- with Allah's help -- call on every Muslim who believes in Allah and wishes to be rewarded to comply with Allah's order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it." While this is perhaps a little more graphic than Palin's appeal, the implication seems quite similar. So does Palin consider the war in Iraq a holy war? After listening to the current administration's jingoism over the past few years, I had come to the conclusion that only extremists, fanatics - terrorists - fought holy wars. Is Sarah Palin then a terrorist?.
Perhaps that connection is a bit tenuous. However, it would seem that the ideology of fundamentalist America, to whom the Republican party panders to at any possible occasion, have a terrorist mentality, if this comment is in any way representative of their prevailing view of the conflict in Iraq. To say a war is a part of God’s plan is in effect to call it a holy war. Haven’t the Republican/conservative/fundamentalist regime been condemning Muslims who have called for a holy war against the United States and Israel? And yet here, the VP nominee for that group, a spokeswomen for their ideas, is essentially calling the war a holy war. The current regime needs to ask itself if such comments are an accurate reflection of their beliefs. Is this a revelation of the true colors of the Republican group – extremists, radicals, fanatics?
As disturbing as the idea that a major political party in our country envision the war as a kind of American jihad against the Middle East (and yes, this entails any bigotry and racism that seems implied by such a perspective), it may be even more disturbing if my analysis has missed the mark. (And admittedly, it may be a little harsh, but not as far off as conservatives might wish). If I am wrong, and Palin’s statement does not reflect the true convictions of the party, then what are we left with?
We have a case of the GOP continuing to implement empty rhetoric to justify its agenda. Ok, ok, politicians have been doing this for years, regardless of party affiliation. But it seems that the GOP over the past 8 years has lost any sense of discretion, judgment, and even taste for that matter, in the grandiose claims it has made, as well as in the often complete lack of truthfulness in their statements.
This brings me to my main point. The GOP claims to be the party with Christian, family, and moral values. But all one has to do is look at their actions over the course of the prevailing administration, look with any kind of conscience or ethical sense, and realize that this party has only been using the rhetoric of Christianity to serve as a justification for its own selfish purposes of gaining power and making money.
In this particular speech, Palin also made the following statement: "God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that." God wants us to build a pipeline? God wants the items on Palin's governor's agenda to come true? The immediate question that comes to mind is of course how Palin knows the will of God. Isn't knowing the will of an omnipotent being impossible? Isn't suggesting that one knows the will of God bordering on blasphemy? Or if Palin, or any person, can know the will of God, doesn't that undermine God's standing as a divine being? That is what remarks like this do, they essentially devalue God. If a politician representing the party of one of the most corrupt administrations in memory claims that God is amenable to his or her political agenda, doesn't that cheapen the idea of God? Their version of God is some sort of crooked politician, a political Santa Claus that grants pipelines and wars for oil to the profit-driven petitioners. I'm sorry, but I prefer to think of God as not having a political affiliation, as perhaps being a little above these selfish machinations. Before we know it, if the Republicans as represented by Palin have their way, the cross will be replaced with an emblem of rifles laid across dollar signs, all done up nicely on designer campaign T-shirts and buttons.
The only faith these people have is that when they use the Christian catchwords, they will immediately garner the support of people who claim to be Christians. Any Christian with even a shred of a sense of the spiritual and sacred should be offended when the politicians bandy about these phrases. Anyone who buys into this rhetoric needs to re-examine their spiritual beliefs. If they have not measured the actions of this party against an authentic sense of morals, and realized the glaring differences that emerge, they have not truly developed any spiritual faith. They are being manipulated. Well, no, actually, since they are enthusiastically embracing this party and their vacuous ideology without ever making an effort to evaluate these empty religious slogans, they are forgoing spiritual inquiry in favor of settling into the cowardice of leaving their faith unexamined.
Am I criticizing Palin here? Certainly. Such a speech is the worst kind of pandering, used effectively by the Republican party to gloss over their ineptitude in handling serious issues and their questionable policy motives. However, let’s remember that we are far from the days when Abraham Lincoln was composing speeches on the way to a public event. Palin delivered the words, but the ideas are indicative of the current party thought and objectives. And that party, through these kinds of speeches, continue to insult the intelligence, sense of ethics, and spiritual integrity of Americans. Or at least of those Americans who make the effort to recognize the bombastic hypocrisy for what it is. Ask yourself: Do you have the courage to look beyond these verbal curtains and see the truth?
David hodgesThis is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen. We as american people should be appalled by the media's one sided blame Bush for wall street ignorance. People the simple truth is if the people in congress did what was best for the american people they would have been drilling ten years ago. Instead they pass legislation to require stricter refining causing fuel prices to rise over night. They do it in the name of global warming something they show no evidence what so ever is happening. Folks the proof isn't there. Palin McCain yes it's true they have core Republican value's so I would think they do agree with allot of the Bush doctrine. Palin went after her own party first. Imagine what she would do as vice president and president of the Sennett. David Hodges
KimI am excited about the ticket this year. However in light of the financial bailout today of Fannie & Freddie. I would like to see our candidates stand up and ask for information of the board members of these institutions and hold them accountable. This will help convince the taxpayers that they really mean reform and will show what they will be effective once in the White House.

Violence is not an answer. Better gun control is. For that matter, how about no guns.
Watch the film called The War Tapes (nominated for Academy Award), where the soldiers were the filmmakers. Get a bit of an inside view of Iraq. Since the Patriot Act and Bush administration, people are disappearing and being incarcerated (yes, in this country) without benefit of council.
It's every woman's right to choose. It is true, if men could get pregnant, abortion would be a right, no questions asked.
It's our right to have clean air, clean water, and a healthy planet. Let's stop being selfish and greedy and look out for the planet. Our survival depends on it. No more drilling. Solar is possible. Wind power is possible. We deserve to have better health care, and health care for all. Raise the bar for quality care. Help Mexico become a better place to live and the immigration problem may be solved. Which candidate will allow these things to come about? Also, it's not about the one or two people that are running... it's about the people they will surround themselves with....
Patrick BrittonWould be nice if people would stop randomly posting a comment just to vote my blog down.
PTfairfaxI used to like McCain. I remember thinking that if any Republican won this election, I would prefer it be him. I've changed my mind. His campaign has degenerated into a desperate and pathetic display of shallow intentions and dubious character. It's sad really. I think he's been swept up in his own machine.
As a community organizer myself, I deeply resent many of the comments that I've heard. I mean, not to sound like a baby, but my eyes teared up by the fourth jab at the role of community organizers that I witnessed. It was, in the most base sense, classless.
People on this board make really nasty jabs at liberals, but you need to understand that we are people who really care about our country. I have run feeding programs through my church, served the PTA and booster clubs at my kid's schools, and gone door to door to collect names on petitions that will bring safer conditions in my neighborhood. It really hurt me to hear the nasty comments made about the fact that my candidate discusses his community organization work as a way to relate to people like me, and many others, who aren't afraid to get our hands dirty and make things better for our families and your family.
I'm nonplus after hearing the speeches made at the GOP convention. It hurt to hear the words from people who call themselves leaders and it hurt even more when the crowd hailed their comments like rabid and cruel androids.
Shame on you GOP. You have really shown me your true colors.
Joe NorrisFellow Conservatives:
You have probably seen the comparision on the Drudge Report of US Magazine fauning over Obama, on the one hand, and trashing Sarah Palin, on the other hand. I think some "community activism" is in order. Today, I e-mailed US Magazine and told them how offended I was.
I told US Magazine that every time I walk into a store from now on, I will go to the magazine section and cover US with a more credible publication. I suggest that you do the same.
If you want to send a comment to US Magazine or inform them of what you intend to do, I am providing the e-mail address below:

I'm certain that many readers of this blog saw the Drudge Report feature on the US Magazine comparing its fawning over Obama and trashing of Sarah Palin. I think that this requires a significant response from the conservative community.
I suggest that every time we walk into a store, we go to the magazine rack and cover up US Magazine with a more respectable and truthful ;ublication.
I also urge you to e-mail us and tell them that you are taking this action because of your disgust over their bias and trashing of Palin. Address below.

GOPhaterPallin is blackmailing McCain. Why else would he be stupid enough to commit political suicide. She is an attractive girl, no brains of course, barely can read a speech (one that she obviously didn't write or can barely understand). McCain had an affair with her and now she is blackmailing him and his wife. He is probably the father of the little baby called Trig (nice name...hahahahaha...Trig...WTF is a Trig, or a Brostol, or a Willow, Piper and Track...wacko friggin freaks).
Sarah has a sexy snarl, bet she is a tiger in the sack...GRRRRRRRR...
GOPhaterThe RNC - what a friggin joke. GOP members should be embarrassed and hide their pathetic heads under a rock. Rudy Julianna - ASS, Mitt Romney - ASS, Mike Huckabee - ASS, Sarah Pallin - NICE ASS BABY. When you don't have intelligence to dazzle your audience, baffle them with BS (i.e. RNC). I crouch and shit into the mouth of all politicians, but apparently the Republican constinuency swallows...hahahahaha. What a bunch of sheep. What a bunch of hypocrits...again I crouch and shit in the mouths of republicans, ALL republicans...hahahahahaha.
DionnaBarack Obamas economic plan seems like its too good to be true. It might very well be. Hes promising to lower taxes for the middle class citizens and extend the unemployment insurance. Hes also investing $150 billion dollars over ten years to advance the nations clean renewable energy movement. The tax rebate that he promised would definitely benefit a lot of people, but one has to ask themselves where all this money is coming from. Who would end up paying for it all in the long run? The middle class would. Why because the corporations that would inccur the tax hike would have to raise the cost of goods so that their profits arent affected. So we would end up bearing that burden, although it doesnt seem apparent now.
Ovaishi...its really a nice blog...hope i will find new posts as well on your blog soon..i have a similar kind of blog..please feel free to view it..http://ovaismirza-politicalthoughts.blogspot.com
IrishSpacemonkAt first I joined this neighborhood, as I was thinking you had a pretty nice looking site, and seemed fair, then I read your pretty sad commentary on Abortion and realized that you lacked any real understanding of ethics, philosophy, the history of politics, and the moral implications. The pro-life movement is a movement of men to control women's bodies, and trivializes the decision a woman makes in dealing with her own health. However I'm not going to rate your blog low...as I think people that are of your same persuasion will find it an excellent read.
LynYou Republicans that don't like Bill Clinton, should know he is a Republican!
He pushed those trade deals that sent all those union jobs to Communist China and Mexico. He was arm in arm with George H W Bush until his wife got into the race. They will be back together again after the election to be sure.
The bush family and the Clintons are close friends to Communist China, where do you think Bill Clinton got all his millions, not from "BOOK DEALS" or consultant deals, for sure, does the words "PAY BACK" come to mind?
Remember Hillary was on the Walmart Board.
A company that hates the middle class and unions, connect the dots, the Clintons are REPUBLICANS!
kentWhat Hillary said was wrong and she should take a hit for it, but to compare these two issues is outrages. For someone to take their children to a church that teaches such hate and to attend a church for17 years that teaches such hate is scary, do you really believe there is a comparison? This issue of Rev. Wright and Obama goes way beyond politics right to the core of hate teaching to children and grown people. Teaching hate for this country is wrong. Does anyone not believe that the parents affirm Rev. Wright's hate to their children; if they do not believe this they are living in a dream world. We may see our next terrors come from a church like this. These are the same kind of things Muslim's extremes are teaching their children, hate the USA, but I know you have to be careful what you say or you may loss your job. The majority in this country will over look this problem and I will be considered a crack pot but this country will pay the price one day for turning a blind eye to these teachings of hate.
MelissaI like what I see here and will be back soon.
