Mama Duck Chronicles

Mama Duck Chronicles

http://sandiegomamaduck.blogspot.com

When asked by someone "How are you?" I answer "Just Ducky!". I first heard this response from a friend and coworker a few years ago. She would always give me this answer anytime I asked how she was. I finally asked her one day what she meant. She said, "When I'm ducky I just let it all roll off my back."...Astounding! What a way to take charge of your bad days! So here I am, waddling through motherhood, just being ducky!

So, when most kids get their hands on a pair of scissors they cut paper or, worst case scenario, hair. Well, not my kid. Tommy was sitting at the kitchen table cutting paper scraps into tiny little pieces. It looked like he was using the scissors pro...

Tommy always runs down the hallway...always, no matter how many times we yell at him for it. I was sitting at the computer tonight and he runs down the hallway hollering "Mommy!". Did I mention that he only has two volume levels? Hollering and sleepi...

Potty training is not for the faint of heart or anyone with a sensitive gag reflex. Both of my children were fairly easy to potty train. Remarkably, Tommy seems to have had an easier time of it despite the old wives tale that boys are harder to train...

One Sunday morning, Emma was watching PBS. I was doing some things around the house and hadn't really been paying attention to what she was watching. After all, PBS is safe enough, or so I thought. All of a sudden, she starts yelling "MOMMY MOMMY! T...

Emma crawled into our bed in the middle of the night which doesn’t happen very often. Granted she was sick with a fever, but in the morning, she looked so peaceful and sweet I couldn’t help but lift her into my arms and hold her for just a few m...

Bloggerific. Blogtastic. A veritable blogishborg. Full of your USDA recommended daily allowance of blog. A bloggingly good time. Boldly going where no blog has ever gone before. A third less calories than your regular blog. Snap, crackle, blog. A gold medal winner in the Blogympics. The blog to end all blogs. It could be the governor of Blogistan. Or Blogkota. Or Blogifornia. It's the meat of a blogona and cheese sandwich.

That's all I got. Blog.

After all that my dearest daughter has been through in her short life,(most of it because of her severe impulsiveness)it sure does a Dad's heart good to see how she has turn out to be an awesome mom, go getter business woman and the best daughter in the world. Love you Britt!

You have inherited the gift. My grandmother was a blogger (back then it was called journaling. She was gifted and so are you. Your blogs inspire me and have introduced me to the art of blogging successfully.
What a gift to your future generations. I know that my grandmother's journals are the most precious thing I own.

Your blog takes keeping a journal to new heights. Your sharing your moments in time help make the distance between California and Texas and Louisiana a little more bearable.
