Welcome to Mancino Matters- a blog about gymnastics and various Mancino related subjects! My name is Julie Halpern, and I’ve been involved in gymnastics my entire life. After my 13-year career as a nationally competitive gymnast ended due to injuries, I followed the natural progression into coaching. Over the past 10 years, I’ve gained invaluable experience coaching gymnasts of all ages and skill levels. Throughout my coaching career, I’ve had the honor of working with preschoolers through collegiate level gymnasts. Supplementary to my coaching skills, I have choreographed countless Floor Exercise and Balance Beam routines. Additionally, I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Teaching gymnastics is very important to me, and I have worked arduously to expand my knowledge base by attending USA Gymnastics Regional and National Congress Events as well as various related seminars. My knowledge has also been applied by volunteering as a Master Clinician for the state of Pennsylvania on several occasions.
I have never been on the business end of the sport…until now! I was thrilled when Mancino approached me about joining their team as their Gymnastics Product Manager. The opportunity to continue my involvement in the gymnastics industry with such a reputable company and industry leader excites me beyond belief. I feel very lucky to have joined the Mancino team.
