Kami Janpense Restuarant

We had the worst dinning experience at this restaurant. We were excited to try a new Japenese Steak House we found in Apple Valley. We had made a reservation with this restaurant at 6:30. We pulled into their parking lot at 6:25 and we received a phone call from the restuarant asking where we were? We explained we were here and just parking the car.

We get into the restaurant and it is empty so we are shocked to receive a phone call. We are seated at the table and greeted by our server. That seemed to be the last time we saw the server. The server was never available and we ended up asking another server if he could get us drinks. The meal itself was average, we ordered scallops and shrimp and they were very chewy and tough. When the meal was over we waiting for our server to give us the bill so we could pay. He finally dropped off the bill and within seconds another man approached our table and tapped his finger saying someone is waiting for this table. We were shocked. We had never experienced anything like this at a fine restaurant.

I decided I was going to talk to a manager. I approached the host stand and the same gentlemen who came to our table to tell us someone wanted our table was there. I asked very politely if there was a manager on. He said yes, that's is me. I said we just wanted to let someone know how dissapointed we were in our experience here. We had been looking forward to coming to Kami all week. The man didn't say a word, such as oh I am sorry, why? I then said it started off with a phone call from someone at your restaurant asking us where we were five minutes before our reservation. The man rudely replied we require our patrons to be here 5 minutes before the reservation. I said politely back you might want to tell them on the phone when they make a rervation. Then I said our server was no where to be find most of the meal. He then said, have you ever eaten at a Japense Steak House before? I said yes and listed several very nice restaurants in Minneapolis. I said really sir, I am not sure what your point is. Then I mentioned how we waited for our bill for quite a while and once the server dropped off the bill, you approached us to tell us someone was waiting for our table and we needed to leave. The man started to argue with me and said I never said that. I said to him what does someone is waiting for your table imply? I then said well I will not be returning to your restaurant and I will be telling others about my experience. He walked away and said sorry to hear that.

It was the most appauling ending to an evening that could have been avoided so easily had the man simply listen to what I had to say and maybe sincerely appologized but instead he chose to argue with me.

Please spread the word, this restaurant is not worthy their time and money!

Sincerely,

Jen
