Wow. I've recently become interested in horses...again. With a friend, we are planning to develop a little bit of land to adopt two or three BLM Mustangs - just because it's the right thing to do.
As I live my life eating an organic vegetarian diet, my pets (dogs, cats, birds) are only offered the very best food (organic when available) and natural health care.
It's been *many* years since I've been involved in horse culture. Back then all our horses were shod. I never used a bit with my horse in the '60s, though. My Quarter Horse mare's manners were exemplary and she was very responsive without metal in her mouth.
I love what you're doing and will visit often as our horse project advances.
