Neuro-Protective Lifestyle: The Art of Aging
http://neuroprotectivelifestyle.com
Just your average physician/shaman healer with a propensity toward
cosmetic psychoneuropharmacology, age-management and mind-body medicine.
After twenty years of conventional medicine I have concluded that 90% of all “dis-ease” originates in the mind. That doesn’t mean it’s “all in your head”. Far from it.
In fact, the physiological consequences of even “perceived” stress are in some cases worse than the disease process itself. Apical Ballooning Syndrome (ABS) or “broken-heart syndrome” is a good example of how severe emotional stress from a relationship gone bad can cause impaired blood flow in the heart, chest pain and even literal ballooning of the apex or “tip” of the heart.
It may be cliche’ but my personal goal is to “live until I die”. Remember, where your brain leads—your body will follow. Senescence is the hallmark of accelerated brain aging–not the norm—and not an inevitability.
Soooooo if squaring off the curve of neurocognitive decline is your aim then…
“I’m your huckleberry”.

You're right. My parents and grandparents were active both physically and mentally to a ripe old age. This helps everybody. It's was so nice as a kid to go visit my grandparents and learn from them. I'm glad they didn't do an early retirement in front of the TV.
