Just wanted to let you know if you are thinking of visiting New Brunswick, NJ and need a hotel you might want to think about not staying at the Howard Johnson Express Inn 26 Route 1 North, New Brunswick, NJ 08901
I was traveling for business and we needed 2 rooms. I called ahead by the way.
2 rooms, 1 king & 1 2 beds
Terrible
Bad neighborhood
Business aqu. I was there with was approached by a crack whore in the lobby
& a deviant right out side the lobby
He told the young woman behind the check in desk, around 19 yrs old that the whore is bad for their business, the woman behind the counter said why did she proposition you unfairly? And told her father.
The Heat. When I got there the heat was off & it was 6:30 PM late Jan 2008 and quite cold. I had to turn it on, then go somewhere for a couple hours so the room could warm up.
Also the heat worked but not well and was very noisy. Interfered with getting to sleep.
I also had to turn on the hair dryer to get the room warm enough repeatedly. I turned it off after a while but had to keep turning it on again in order to warm up again.
The refrig was not turned on I had to get a business person to get on their knees and stick head into refrig after reaching behind dresser to plug in.
There was WIFI for computers but the outlets were not 3 pronged except the 1 in the bathroom so we had to move the table in front of the bath room door in order to reach the plug and only use 1 computer at a time.
TV volumn would only turn up some & I could not hear it over the heater. I could not watch any HBO or other TV.
It is definitely unsafe here. I am concerned about my car getting stolen or broken & my room broken into.
What a dump.
I am so angry I will never stay in a Howard Johnson in NJ again. And to think I wasted $about $75.00.
