Hollow Corporations
Loyalty to corporations is morphing into a new independent model of the working person. This trend is more respectful to the family as well as to the human spirit. Today, if you have a laptop computer and a cell phone, you can run a corporation with no personnel, no office, and no inventory. And you can do this from your home.
When a company produces none of their products but outsources everything… that’s a successful business. Think of it as a symbiotic relationship where the entrepreneur can offer for sale on the Internet, any number of high end products and have them drop-shipped from the manufacturer -- globally anywhere.
There are companies an entrepreneur can contract with for this purpose. They provide the customers with all of the back end functions including fulfillment of the product. They handle all of the standard shopping cart functions, inventory management, customer database reports, and all sales data necessary as well as credit card processing. This lets you focus on your entrepreneurial business: marketing the products.
While you may want to Incorporate your home business, it would be considered a “hollow corporation” because there is no brick and mortar storefront or list of employees. You don’t need deliveries or postal pickups and have no use for letterhead stationary. Some do use a website to generate sales, and eBay has many such attractions.
But this is still second best to Leveraged Income, because profits from yesterday’s sales will not earn you a dime today. You must sell again. Given the choice, I’ll take Leveraged Income any day.
