Unique, well done blog.
Observations and commentary from an over-50 American girl in Paris.
Recent PostsI found this unfinished blog post today, which I started this summer while staying at my brother's place in Arizona. I thought I'd finish it off and post it.I was sitting in my brother's TV room this morning with my laptop. If my brother had to pay t...
You will be happy to know that I was able to gather the 92 pages of paperwork required to reinstate my iPhone, bribe my friend G with sushi to help me fill in all the blanks and sign in all the right places, make triplicate copies - one for me, one f...
Some of you might be surprised to know that I'm a chicken shit. You might think I was brave to change my life at 50 and sell everything and move to a foreign country. But I think it's quite possible to be impetuous... and a chicken shit at the very s...
I've been to Ikea about five times in the last month. It's on the outskirts of Paris, close to Charles de Gaulle airport. You can take a train there, I think. Then you have to get on a bus. Way too complicated pour moi. And why should I go through al...
Sometimes I think I can't write a blog post unless it's a lovely, perfectly-shaped essay. But I miss writing and want to catch you up on what I've been doing so you won't think I fell off of that slow boat to Paris.I was in the states for 6-ish weeks...
Cougar Up! That's the name of a new line of products created by the girlfriend of an old friend of mine. She told me all about it over dinner and wine a few nights ago. She was driving home one day and saw a bumper sticker with "Cougar Up!" on it and...

Ameri really like your blog background!!
cindy geeOmyword. Did I say that? This blog covers the adventures of Lisa, an American woman living large, and unapologetically, in Paris.
A wonderful story teller, Lisa is also skilled at bringing characters to life in her posts. You will meet Chairman Mao, her tormented, egocentric cat. You will also meet the towering transvestites she encounters at a taxi stand. While Lisa offers up a ton of belly laughs in her tales, you will also feel the ebb and flow of life when she describes an elderly woman walking home with groceries, or a unknown man in a wool cap who dies quietly on the street one night.
This is brilliant blog from a irreverent, honest and talented writer. Omyword - she's worth reading and following.
Santosh Nikamits really gr8 to read your article ........... thanks for sharing this information with us
KittyI like 1 very, it is very valuable.
TaraHA HA HA HA HA, this has to be one of the best blogs I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Whew, I laughed so hard I nearly piddled my pants (heck, had I laughed any harder I might have just s***t them, too, lol). If anyone is in the need for a good laugh, my word, "this" is the place to go. Warning though, before you head over, it might be advisable to throw on a diaper before you get there because this place is definitely an 'accident' waiting to happen. What a great, great read. With laughs like this, I guarantee I'll be back, but first....."where can I get some Depends?" LOL
Project SaviorWell written and funny.
Rajendra Dhakalit's very niche blog i love it

World Aids Day, December 1
Today in your spare time, remember all of those lives lost to HIV and AIDS. You can make a difference in the global fight against HIV and AIDS. World AIDS Day isn't just about one day. With infection rates continuing to rise globally there is a great deal still to do, so get involved.
HIV is one of the biggest social, economic and health challenges in the world. It is a global emergency claiming over 8,000 lives every day. In fact 5 people die of AIDS every minute.
Young people (under 25 years old) account for half of all new HIV infections worldwide - around 6,000 become infected with HIV every day.
During 2007 more than two and a half million adults and children became infected with HIV. By the end of the year, an estimated 33 million people worldwide were living with HIV/AIDS. The year also saw two million deaths from AIDS, despite recent improvements in access to antiretroviral treatment.
Despite best efforts from governments, non-profit organizations and healthcare practitioners around the world, HIV and AIDS is still having huge global impact.
More than 25 million people have died of AIDS since 1981.
KlaraLove it!!!
Robin EastonA wild wacky witty blog! And to top it off it's hysterically funny! Get ready for a fun ride! Just great!

Catatonic KidFantastically funny blog delivered with serious style. Read it, love it, return to it - I certainly do!
Keeper of The WayI absolutely loved "Dignity Defaced" In a word: poignant. It made me give pause (which is no easy feat by the way..).
Fantastic. Really.
Prince of Wall StreetI loved your blog. Really enjoyed the Global O post.
lotusflowerSuch a free spirited person--such a free spirited blog.
If I could be you even for just a day, that would be a high of a lifetime. Take care.
Thanks for stopping by all my blogs. You are so kind. This is definitely one of my GOOD days...
Cheers!
Annika RyanWonderful-wonderful blog!
Piercing sense of humour and intelligent approach!
Pat Kennellyfunny, funny and did I say funny! Loved the doctors visit post, very fun writing, I'll be back.
HeatherWell, I can't let Jennifer and CJ write glowing reviews and not post my own (there's that competitive nature again...)
Funny. CHECK.
Well Written. CHECK.
Crazy range of topics. CHECK CHECK (my favorite part - besides being funny and well-written, of course).
Did I say funny and well-written? I did, didn't I.
Get lost in her memories, laugh at her making fun of herself, and help her as she lends her talents to film makers, writers and photographers.
TALENT.
CJTo say, Lisa has talent, is a waste of time. One should never state the obvious.
So, what can I say instead? I thought I would try to come up with one sentence to sum her blog up. Here is my attempt to do this blog justice.
OMYWORD is a blog for intelligent people with a sense of humor, who can read between the line and get the fascinating story behind the story, while enjoying this entertaining, well written, funny, insightful, interesting, and of so satisfying blog.
How did I do?
Make your life a better life to live by spending a little time with Lisa each day.
JenniferThe title of this blog alone, warrants a peek or two. I do want to warn that once you are there, it is hard to get out. She says it, means it and is not apologetic, which makes this blog the real deal.
Go fix a cup of coffee and a crepe, pull up a chair and read one of the best blogs I have seen. I promise you will want to come back every day.
