Pieces of Zen

Pieces of Zen

http://piecesofzen.zozuz.com/

I work as a hypnotherapist and am fascinated by the potential of the human mind. Back in the 1970s, after a lot of searching, I discovered Zen, a powerful and profound way of spiritual and self realisation.

The way of Zen is a discipline that I practice in my everday affairs to both recognise and resolve personal and spiritual karma. I created this blog, to share with others my progress so anyone who comes accross it can decide if Zen is path they would like to take.

  • Creation and Willingness

Posted on Monday October 26th, 2009 at 01:39 in Creative, creator, willingness, willing

The answer lies in recognizing that each one of us is a creator, if we are willing to be channels to creative energy.  An experience of being willing however, is another matter, as willingness cannot be defined by the rational ego-mind.  It...

  • A Rock and a Hard Place

Posted on Thursday October 1st, 2009 at 02:03 in zazen, conditioned responses

In zazen, I am watching my past conditioned responses running and nothing will change them until they have totally discharged into my awareness. Awareness through zazen is the only “cure” and if I  try to uproot things, I am coming f...

  • Zazen

Posted on Wednesday September 30th, 2009 at 01:38 in zazen

Zazen (meditation) is the art of stepping back from the mind and watching it without the interference of judgement. It does not have to only take place whilst sitting in zazen,  but in day to day activities, that will in themselves, become zazen...

  • Reflections of Self.

Posted on Monday September 28th, 2009 at 02:45 in self, zen, awareness, zen master

All other people and pictures are reflections of my self. As I absorb another person into my awareness, it is an opportunity to learn about me as well as the other person.  Interpretation always exists in the domain of the ego and there are boun...

  • Misunderstanding.

Posted on Sunday September 20th, 2009 at 02:59 in zen, misunderstanding, misunderstood, zazen

During zazen, lots of thoughts and ideas come up into the mind. There are times when I have felt a great loneliness on my path and a feeling that I am strongly misunderstood. This I recognize now is part of the journey. Many people back strongly away...

Although I disagree with many aspects of Zen from a theological viewpoint, I think it has a lot to offer in the area of simplifying and decluttering our lives. Nicely done.
