Richard A. Sprague aka Dick [Sprague] should be more concerned about the fake court opinions that are being faxed from his office to the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas in Pottsville, PA, instead of how Fumo likes his shirts to be laundered.
Dick [Sprague] also represents a fraudulent company by the name of R/S Financial Corporation. This fake company never had a banking license and is stealing peoples homes and terrorizing them. Apparently, a banking license is not needed if Dick [Sprague] is your legal representation. It should also be mentioned that the vice president of this fake company, Robert J. Rosenstein happens to have a son by the name of Rod J. Rosenstein, who is the U.S. Attorney of Maryland.
Dick [Sprague] always knowingly represents clients for the single purpose of protecting their position at the expense of others. It is more seemingly that he is also protecting his own position. If Dick [Sprague] received $272,000 from 2000 to 2006 from Citizens Alliance for advice, I am confused. Isnt Dick [Sprague] supposed to be donating his legal resources to make better communities? Can you imagine how much Dick [Sprague] would charge a non-profit corporation for actually doing some real legal work? After all, apparently Dick [Sprague] has been doing pro-bono work for the fake company using the name, R/S Financial Corporation for thirty (30) years. So much for charity!

Richard Sprague's law firm is threatening me over some comments left on the blog. Anthony Kovalchick Sr. left a couple statements citing his opinion of Sprague and Sprague and directing people to his website. A lawyer named Thomas E. Groshens is now emailing me with threats of a defamation lawsuit against ME unless I remove the comments.
I make it very clear on the blog's masthead that this is an OPINION website and that I am not responsible for the opinions of others as posted in the comments. It is well established case law that bloggers aren't responsible for comments posted on their blogs. The Electronic Frontier Foundation has represented a number of bloggers on this issue.
Here is the email I recieved this morning:
An individual purporting to be Anthony Kovalchick, Sr. has at least two posts on your site that are patently false and defamatory. We request that the posts these posts be removed immediately. I have copied the posts below: Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.

I'm a bit fed up with bullies trying to infringe on my rights as a blogger. Between the Muhlenberg Township Police Saturday and this email this morning I'm in no mood to respond to such heavy handed tactics. If the Sprague law firm has a problem with Mr. Kovalchick they can post a response to his comments and opinions. He makes some very serious allegations in his comments. If the law firm wants to rebut them they're welcome to do so.
If they want me to delete them they need to provide some legitimate explanation to me as to why the comments are defamatory. They can document to my satisfaction that the events and facts cited by the commenter are false. If so I will not only delete the comments I will ban the commenter from being able to post comments in the future. Simply sending a demand email trying to intimidate me isn't a good plan of action though. All he's going to acocmplish by that is great publicity for my blog, wider distribution of the comments they oppose, and perhaps a countersuit.
Richard Sprague is a very public man who routinely holds large press conferences. As such he would have to prove I acted with malicious intent. He would also have to overturn case law protecting bloggers from legal liability for comments left on their weblogs. Those are big hurdles.
Federal law says this about the issue from the EFF:
Section 230 says that "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider." This federal law preempts any state laws to the contrary: "[n]o cause of action may be brought and no liability may be imposed under any State or local law that is inconsistent with this section."
Your readers' comments, entries written by guest bloggers, tips sent by email, and information provided to you through an RSS feed would all likely be considered information provided by another content provider. This would mean that you would not be held liable for defamatory statements contained in it.

I'm not going to point people to them so I don't get blamed for spreading the information. The Sprague firm is representing Sen. Fumo though.
The Muhlenberg Twp. police got all bullying and used intimidation tactics against me over the weekend. The combination of legal intimidation by the two forces certainly has me ticked off and not in the mood to abide such behavior.

I spoke to Mrs. K., the daughter, for two hours. I got a good feeling for the story. It appears that over 30 years ago Sprague was operating what could be called "a scam" in the coal mining regions. They used a financial firm and a middle man to go around and purchase items from hard-working, niave, honest, rural families. In their case, the middle-man wrote a check for $25,000 for a piece of coal equipment. The check bounced 3 times. Mr. K honored the handshake (as he was an honorable man) when the purchaser came back with the financial firm who claims to be financing the loan. Somehow the pigeon gets called to the Sprague law firm, in Philadelphia, clearly out of the element for any coal miner. At the firm Mr. K was threatened to pay up. Mrs. K had a stroke on the spot. Mr. K. was a good husband and was upset and very concerned for his wife. Harassment has gone on for over 30 years. The Ks have fought back. They have accumulated much documentation of falsified documents, and collusion with the local court system. Even the US Justice Dept. when a Sprague family member got a job, the investigation was dropped. The Ks knew what they have. Mrs. K. is a very kind, god-fearing (or should I say respecting) woman who told me her parents had a lot of love and suffered greatly due to this little money-making swindle. I applaud the K family. They are still being threatened, yet they continue to publicize the true nature of Sprague, who is good friends with Rendell. This story shows what happens when the small guy fights back the Goliaths. I did tell Mrs. K that they probably ruined any political aspirations. I highly commend the Ks for standing up to their biblical truths.

Mr. Morgan, the Kovalchick family is very sorry that Thomas E. Groshens of Sprague & Sprague bullied you and is trying to infringe on your rights as a blogger. As you can see, taking away the civil rights of the American people are the tactics of the Sprague & Sprague firm.

However, the truth is the truth, so when it is out there for the public to view, it is detrimental to their reputation as officers of the court. The truth hurts!

Richard A. Sprague has quite the reputation as a libel suite king. He has sued numerous people and the media. He was defending himself in claims that he was not guilty of jury tampering. He also did not like the ABA Jornal describing him as perhaps the most powerful lawyer-cum fixer in Pennsylvania.

If Richard A. Sprague says he and his firm are being defamed by Anthony Kovalchick, Senior WHY IS HE NOT SUING HIM? Why does Richard A. Sprague beat around the bush by harassing bloggers, internet providers, and webhosts? My website has been shut down twice and blogs have been deleted. I had to move my site out of the COUNTRY to get some justice. This last attempt to shutdown my website has failed, so now he is harassing my internet provider.

Time is of the essence. I am 86 years old and you are I believe 81 years old. I saw you on your news conference and you look in bad shape. So start the lawsuit for defamation against me and bring it on! The only two times my family had a jury trial when you represented Robert J. Rosenstein, father of U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein of Maryland, WE WON! All I want before I leave this earth is a jury of twelve honest law-abiding citizens to view my proof and hear my sorrow. I am assuming you might not have enough attorneys since your firm; Sprague & Sprague is so busy with the Senator Vincent Fumo scandal that implicates numerous attorneys from your firm as criminal coconspirators.

The police and neighbors would bring her back to her home. I also want justice for the 30 years of pain my entire family suffered because of a scam artist with political connections.
