Sam Spade was a fictional San Francisco gumshoe detective created by Dashiel Hammett, a real San Franciscan. Sam Spade was a survivor with tough feet, very much like the City's pigeon population. Me too. I'm almost 60, have a graduate degree in history and my family came to this City in the 1800's. So here's my take on Life in the magnificent City of San Francisco.
