I find the jihad types to be unrealistic. When I was in Egypt in 1967, I was told "We're going to push the Jews into the sea!" I replied, "Bring your lunch." It's good to be right.
I'm sure you've noticed that the suicide bombers are younger and younger. Older men feed children and young women lots of religious crap about their "duty" and send them out to blow themselves up. The old guys just stand behind everyone else and cheer.
